the official obama response...

as always, he takes the high road...

Obama's initial official campaign statement - to South Dakota newspaper, the Argus Leader in Sioux Falls:

"Senator Clinton's statement before the Argus Leader editorial board was unfortunate and has no place in this campaign," Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement Friday.

Saturday while campaigning in Puerto Rico, Obama seemed inclined to excuse Clinton's remark as a simple misstep:

"I have learned that when you are campaigning for as many months as Senator Clinton and I have been campaigning, sometimes you get careless in terms of the statements that you make and I think that is what happened here. Senator Clinton says that she did not intend any offense by it and I will take her at her word on that," Obama told Radio Isla Puerto Rico.

Even Obama says there was no malice behind it.
She was talking a time frame.

I'm not making excuses for her words - they are so hurtful to anyone who cares about RFK.

But unless you think she wants him dead.....in which cxase there is no point in going any further.

She should apologize for the content of the statement, but not the intenet of physicall harm

It was the way she worded it. We all know Bobby was assassinated, it's history, so why not just say two people she knew of stuck it out until June? Bobby and Bill.

She has not really done so. Only "if I have offended anyone" is as close as it gets to an apology. Of course she has offended virtually everyone except for the stormfronters.
Unfortunately, you seem to be the only Hillary supporter left on this board. I say "unfortunately" because I enjoy the debate and arguement with/against different viewpoints. I welcome Mudwhistle's posts.
Winthrop has not had a post since H.'s statement. JD's posts are few and far between since he stated he will no longer support H.
TeriB.'s posts are rare. The others have long since left.
I'm wondering if this is a trend in general, that she just doesn't have anyone left to rationally support her other than her "core constituents", and you know who I'm talking about.
It seems the Hillary supporters spend most of their efforts in apologizing for her statements and actions, not defending her stances/ viewpoints , whatever they are.

Is it just me, or does this sound like a clever callback to Hillary's dithering answer to the question of BO's religion? He claims he's not a Muslim, so we'll have to take his word on that, and there's no reason to doubt him so far as I know, or something to that effect. This has the same ring to it.

The only supporters she has left don't know what a computer is, much less how to use one.

Do you think the previous statement was mean? Does the internet seem more cruel to the old or the young?

Obama is a decent human being and has never stooped to the levels Hillary has, that's just one of the things that makes him so great. On the other hand I and many other people who see this statement for what it is will not forgive her.

Cmon you guys, do you really want a president that does not know how to string sentences together...?

How's that working out, currently? Right. Just as I thought.

From what I've seen. most of the others no longer think it's worthwhile to post here, cause we just get slammed
( by some - but not all ), or it just degenerates into hatred, or name calling.

I've thought of posting a few things, but it really isn't worth it, because if it's a Hillary idea - it has to be bad.

It' like 1AM, so my brain can't think of any concrete examples.
BTW - I've condemed the statement, but not the person,
because I just don't think Hillary wants Obama dead/ others here seem to cling on to that view. so again: what's the point.

I'm just a dumb thickheaded Polok - so it don't bother me.
I come here to try to make a few points, but i don't expect to be listened to, or taken seriousy.

so what is it? a clumsily worded statement, thoughlessly spoken?
Or is it a malicious call for his death?
