Just thought of another point DRS. Some sites ban the use of web site addresses in the signature lines because people where using it to get other posters IP addresses from the site----I ran across something about that too.

I don't get what they did with them---but somehow it allowed them to go to an ISP and get identities for fraudulent purposes.

We are dealing here with posters who are either lying to us or lying to themselves or both.

A Frequent Poster who whines at Rumbleville that posters here think that anyone who is not for Obama is a racist and then says that Pat Buchanan and Joe Scarborough are the only MSNBC commentators
he likes is making an admission against interest.

Thing is ----the biggest whiners on the board want someone ELSE to make ewee ting better por itty bitty them!

They are jumping on a grown man for NOT playing mommy for them and stopping us mean ole Obama supporters from bashing Hillary or identifying their racist remarks!

Apparently one of them has gotten so desparate that he went to Rumbleville and whined there about it! ---The definition of PUNK----if you ask me!!
Running of to whine on another board is probably better than using that board to mount a spam invasion of this one the way the Skinwalkers of "The Henhouse.com" [political nutshell] did.

There isn't a lot you can do with an IP number alone. At least not without the cooperation of the Internet Service Provider. All you can do without having access to the ISP's logs and membership data is get a general idea of where a person lives and who they pay for internet access.

Now you could complain to their ISP, fraudulently report that they violated some rule in an attempt to get the ISP to drop them. But unless there have been some advances in technology that I don't know about (which is entirely possible) an IP number alone isn't worth much.

I actually had this happen to me once. I sent a message from my work computer at the University of Chicago, a jerkoff that didn't like me got ahold of my IP and called the University claiming that I was making racist threats on a message board. HE couldn't track me down himself, but turning the IP over to the ISP with that claim caused them to track me down. It was a feeble accusation and easily dismissed, but that's about the extent of damage you can do with an IP.
