It looks like he had a rather tragic run in with a vat of red grapes. Either that or he's got one unique as hell birthmark.

Am i Surprised? No. Having several "choice" conversations with RK and few others around here I have a good idea of what is going on. I have been saying this for about a month that treatment around here is selective and certain people get more leeway than others. That the radical Obama cult gets to do whatever it wants. Old news.

I am sorry for Teri, she seems like a nice person and I don't think she meant the comment the way it was interpreted. We all get emotional. That reaction was not warranted though, and despite how horrible what she said was, we should not cast away the grain of truth. There have been "death" threats on Obama, and many ppl are worried someone is just gunna lob a grenade into the crowd one day. I hope to God they don't, but there are so many nutjobs walking around who knows.
Yeah, sure, you were taking exams, Cleopatra. And how interesting that you show up on this thread.

I did not defend or respond to the post in question.

My posts here speak for themselves. Unlike Winthrop, who sneaks around in his long black dress and grey wig waving his 1932 copy of Emily Post's Etiquette, I come here to post about issues
and to learn from the many bright posters who are also here to discuss political issues.

I do not agree with every post that any poster here makes. I do not come here and say, "I tattled on your friend and the Administrator reprimanded her and you are guilty by association."
I am sure the posters here whose opinions I value can see that.

One is only responsible for a post made by another if one constantly defends and apologizes for posters who are passive-aggressive racists. At the other
board, jdanton is constantly crucified by everyone
but you and Rocker and Kanadesage -- which puts
the lie to your claim that I am a Big Meanie.

My dear, as long as you mention me in your posts, in spite of being
"ignored" by you, I will respond. Your attempt at caricature is
amusing, albeit inaccurate.

Now, for my usual corrections of your...er...misrepresentations.
Contrary to your innuendo, I did not "tattle" on anyone, nor was it
necessary. That post spoke for itself. I did indeed respond, as
did Eric, independent of any encouragement from me. I do not report
posts, as I believe in free speech, and in letting fools reveal them-
selves in any manner they choose.

You speak of my "pomposity", while you have set yourself up as the
"decider" of who is "racist" and the doctor of psychology in deciding
who is "passive aggressive". Rich, indeed.

Back when I offered an alternative view to your smear of JDanton,
a smear based on nothing but your limited reading of his posts,
I treated you with respect. You are the one who threw a tantrum
in response, insisting I was to be put on "ignore", but never missing a
chance to pass along your witticisms on what you imagine me to be
like and to throw more tantrums when I have the temerity to
disagree. You are not alone in this, but I wonder what all of you of
the same hyper-sensitive mindset will do when all of this is decided.

Finally, here is my suggestion. If you are going to ignore me,
ignore me and shut up about me, whether here in public or
among the alleged "PM Mafia". Stand up and fight or go about your
business with those "many bright posters" with whom you see eye
to eye, and I will discuss politics or anything else with anyone willing
to do so like an adult rather than a snit-prone child.

I would hope it is the result of a vat of red wine, but since that Mr.
Winthrop was a Puritan (unlike this one), I doubt that was the case.

denounce and reject him.

He did have a fine collar, however. And a most fine surname.
A bit of an ass? Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he "donate" blankets to Native Americans that were tainted with small pox? I knew your avatar wasn't Willie the Shake, by the way.

Good, but since he bears some resemblance, and you called me
"Shakespeare", the error is understandable in either of our cases.
As for John Winthrop's interaction with the native peoples,
understatement is perhaps one of my peccadillos.

Smallpox was first introduced, according to a paper written by
two ethnohistorians at the University of Albany
, into the native
populations through contact with Europeans in 1518. Such introductions
did not result in full scale epidemics until the much larger influx of
settlers in the early to mid 1600s.
To his considerable discredit, Mr. Winthrop attributed the epidemic
to the will of God in "clearing the land" for European dominance,
the opinion of an ass, to be sure.

That said, the distribution of smallpox infected blankets occurred
during the mid-1700s "French and Indian Wars", and blame for this
plan is assigned to Lord Jeffrey Amherst, not John Winthrop, who
died one hundred years earlier, in 1649.
