Bill today: 'This May Be the Last Day I'm Ever Involved in a Campaign of This Kind'
Bill Clinton: 'This May Be the Last Day I'm Ever Involved in a Campaign of This Kind'
June 02, 2008 12:48 PM ABC News' Sarah Amos Reports: Speaking to a crowd in Milbank, SD former President Bill Clinton admitted that today could be the last time he has such an active role in presidential politics. "I want to say also that this may be the last day I'm ever involved in a campaign of this kind. I thought I was out of politics, 'til Hillary decided to run. But it has been, one of the greatest honors of my life to go around and campaign for her for president," said Clinton as he began his speech. Watch the VIDEO HERE: ABC News It was certainly not a long thought - nor something he seemed to want to dwell on. But for a man who has rarely shown even an inkling of defeat in the past year, even uttering the words says a lot.

very gracious, look like the campaign will be suspended tomorrow night.
They did it right - got all the voters a chance to vote for 2 active candidates. But still dropped out without taking it to the convention. I'm sure it won't satify anyone here - but i think they did the right thing on both counts.

What I find amazing is just how badly Bill has done on Hillary's campaign. Up until this year, I thought he had one of the strongest degrees of political sensibility of all the presidents in our history, but making up excuses for spipergate by saying that his 60 year old wife was tired and confused? Accusations of an organized conspiracy to manipulate the super delegates?

Well he did have some making up to do; i.e. he owed her. That was a pretty publicized blow job he got. |

Here is link to long article about the deconstruction of Bill in the new Vanity Fair: The Comeback Id: Politics & Power: vanityfair.com I suppose that nothing Bill Clinton did would have surprised me with the exception of his using the race card so blatantly in his wife's campaign. "Vote for me; I don't rob banks." "Vote for me; I don't steal cars." "Jesse Jackson won South Caroline." It would be like if Abraham Lincoln came back from the dead and repealed the Civil Rights Acts. I do not want to stoop to Hillary's level, but sometimes I wonder how safe he is in his Harlem headquarters.

Nice curve ball pitch Sparky but what she's saying is that those infamous remarks of his have probably decreased his once high approval ratings in the Black community. Don't even think about equating Harper's remarks with those of your girlfriend on RFK.

CosmicRocker and Winthrop both should go back to rumbleville and defend jdanton's theory that the outrage at Hillary's assassination remark was merely making a mountain out of a molehill.
