That's why I always check out the Ca Dem site for great links and good explanations for everything on the ballot.

Actually there was no place that I could think of to research this. I took what I did learn about this from the news. Channel 3 was the first to discuss what prop 98 was about....but as someone else here stated, both propositions were badly written. There seems to be two props each election in California meant to confuse voters. Frankly I don't care any more because California does not take these lies seriously and you can say ANYTHING on a political ad with no consequences. It's just stupid.

I actually sat down and read them both all the way through, because I wasn't too happy with the Supreme Court's ruling on that last big eminent domain case. Both of them struck me as being full of bugs, so I filled out my ballot voting no on both, and put it on my mantle where it's still sitting.

Damn. I think I may have to contact the Registrar to remain an absentee voter.

That's not surprising b/c it's a really known thing how easy it is to make manpulative political tv ads i.e. swiftboaters, "call me" Harold Ford, etc. etc

Npr Ca shows esp Forum have excellent shows on the different candidates and propositions, etc.

Political campaign people know that ads that cast doubt are the the strongest...serious.

Another really good place to check out California issues is Consumer Watchdog: Home. They didn't have anything on these initiatives, but they keep an eye on Arnie and the state legislature and you'll generally find things on that site that you won't hear on the news. They used to be called the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Reform.
