It's already the law.

What's a Hardees? Is that like Arbies?

(I actualy care a great deal about that particular law.....but as usual there was the real proposition and a phoney one from the opposition......I didn't know which was the real one. Prop 99 or prop 98. Julia....do you know?

Crap - I forgot to mail my ballot.

From what I understand, Prop 99 was the real one, and 98 had all kinds of contingencies tacked on, but as a rule I generally vote NO on all ballot propositions.

They're usually poorly written and cause as many problems as they purport to solve.

It's a fast food place. and eminent domain effects everyone. the SC ruled that it didn't have to be a project of public good, like a school or something. these right wing money grubbing fuckers said that Private funded projects can pull eminent domain on you. Hence a hardees could be built on your property.

The wording was pretty tricky but the "bad" one wanted to eliminate rent control:

Quote:
On June 3rd, Vote No on Prop 98, Vote Yes on 99

Two measures on the state ballot use the words eminent domain. But Prop 98 is a deceptive scheme financed by wealthy landlords that would eliminate rent control and make it easier to evict people from their homes to make way for new developments. 98 also has loopholes that would hurt our environment and increase taxpayer costs. There is only one that is true eminent domain reform - Prop. 99, which protects homeowners from eminent domain abuse. Here's why you should vote NO on 98 and YES on 99.

CA Professional Firefighters Say...

“Prop. 98 would hurt the supply of affordable housing needed to keep firefighters and paramedics in our communities where they can more easily respond to emergencies. The measure also has provisions that will make it difficult for public safety professionals to protect our communities and the public.”
etc....
No on Prop 98 - Home
