It really bothers me that I don't hear him saying we need a fully-functioning UN, where the US will be a participant in consensus, with all world nations. It's the same old cowboy mentality...the bully tactics...going it alone BS that got us into our current problems and here we go again! As long as the US takes this path, hatred towards us will grow, terrorist threats and strikes will continue, and the US will be a coalition of ONE. While the US is riding high in it's saddle with six-shooters drawn and cocked, at home the country is falling apart...

Well said & I agree 100 % w/ all of that........

I am troubled by it but if he came out & said differently he would never have gotten this far..... Far to many Americans are not ready to hear the truth..... Just look @ some of the dem's here.......

IMHO much of the dem party is quite far to the right... Snuggling right up to the rep party regarding foreign affairs.........

Once he is in I hope that he can be/will be guided by truth & decency & the public can be gradually weened off the "scare & hate cycle" & gradually feed the truth......

He certainly aint perfect but I am hopeful...........

I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Iraqis and you curse the Army/Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Iraqi's deaths, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall.

We use words like honor, code, patriotism, loyalty...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use 'em as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to people who rise and sleep under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then question the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post.

Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!

Troubling.......... But well said as usual...........

I recently saw & posted an interview w/ bush by an Irish women. She was asking some hard questions..... I could almost visualize him sitting in that same chair w/ her stone face looking @ the troubled man trying to explain himself.........

He did not feel the need to explain away but rather refocused the question to suit his response............ She challenged him on it several times but he was adamant..... Perhaps he believes he has no other choice, persistent almost to the point of being rude, loud & forceful........ & not of a "presidential" manner neither.....

And the fine and intelligent citizens of this nation elected insane-Bush a second time!!!! We knew he was an idiot, we knew he lied to us about Iraq, we knew insane-Bush and his cronies were a bunch of crooks...but we elected him again...hecka of a job people...hecka of a job...
