Hello from a new person! Looks like I picked one helluva thread to weigh in on, huh?

The deplorable actions on the part of Clinton's supporters and the messages being left for Clyborne simply ennunciate the problem that we have with race relations in this country - as does much of this thread.

Obviously, racism remains alive and well in America. The fact that we have reached a historic moment in our political arena, has been clouded by the rhetoric of bigots and small minded individuals who lack the integrity and understanding to realize that unity is the key to change and to progress.

The Clinton's played the race card and pulled a lot of dirty deeds out of their not-so-magical top-hat and they still lost. In my opinion, if this country is to repair the damage done by the Shrub and his minions, we cannot waste time on what race or color the best candidate is.

The real issues have suffered throughout this whole nomination process and it's time that we got on with it. Change is in the air, but it's a far cry from being a reality.

That part of America I despise and if ever they try to pull some shit on me, well, lets just say that Eman would be quite an adversary.
there is really not much tension between blacks and mexicans here.

We can't all be stupid enough to think that someone is going to 'gift' us with some change or "bring" us some change.

We have taken the first step. We have SELECTED a different way of doing things.

But now the hard part begins----WE are going to have to CHANGE how we do things. We are going to have to start looking for those commenalities and build bonds around them.

Those of us in the Obama groups have been doing this for months and it ain't easy or for the faint at heart----but it can be done!

Then you are in a unique situation. it sure is everywhere else. Ever been to east L.A. and Compton? East harlem and west harlem? Right across the street from me?

the good thing RK is that I can tell you are a hopeless optimist. An integrationist too. Those are good things. Just ignore cynical Eman.

Do we start by unkill Saddam?

We've combat in effect right now.

The world agrees with you, and Obama has no room to maintain the current status quo.

Obama has to win the war or at least end it.

Leaving Israel out in the dry right now sends a clear sign of surrender.

The thing is, change must take place now, and Obama has to be the Messiah, simply because we're neck deep in it.

We've no option to go at Israel's pace anymore, you know.

I think it is all about how bad we want this!

Obama is telling the truth when he says this is all about us!

It makes me a little nervous, to be honest with you, but it also feels great to feel like there is SOMETHING I can DO about what is happening in my nation.

Our campaign is about the power of you and me!

When we vote---we are showing faith in one another---not just Obama!

But you can't lay all of that on one man - it will take all of us. I agree, to a point, he has to END the war and he can't abandon Israel. But...he isn't a Messiah. Yes, we are definitely "neck deep in it." And digging ourselves out won't happen in one fell-swoop or be accomplished any time soon.

Without us being unified, however, it will take a lot longer. We have to win the election first - and then we have to be careful not to be lulled back into complacency.
