I hope so.

Why is the US press silent on Brzezinski’s warnings of war against Iran?

if he is i would hope people vote for an independant candidate.

Brzezinski is a butcher, no better than Kissinger. i am surprised you would like him, considering his role in the war against Russia

Brzezinski is one of the fiercest critics of the neocons in DC.

Why is the US press silent on Brzezinski’s warnings of war against Iran?

Most significant and disturbing was Brzezinski’s suggestion that the Bush administration might manufacture a pretext to justify a military attack on Iran. Presenting what he called a “plausible scenario for a military collision with Iraq,” Brzezinski laid out the following series of events: “Iraqi failure to meet the benchmarks, followed by accusations of Iranian responsibility for the failure, then by some provocation in Iraq or a terrorist act in the US blamed on Iran, culminating in, quote/unquote, ‘defensive’ US military action against Iran...” [Emphasis added].

Well, you know the saying... the best defense is a good defense. Or is it, defenses win championships? Or is it defense != offense?

In a turtle-shell defense, whoever is inside the shell can continue farming resources while the attackers waste their resources limply assaulting an impenetrable shell.

A good defense consists of many layers; the turtle-shell being only one.

Yes. But it doesn't matter because Obama represents change.

While I admire Brezezinski's stinging and well deserved criticism of the Bush administration's foreign policy blunders, particularly the Iraq war, let's not forget he's the author of a policy that armed and trained the Afghan Arabs, Islamic radicals who migrated to Afghanistan in the wake of the Soviet invasion late in 1979. Many in their ranks, including Osama bin Laden later evolved into Al Qaeda and the Taliban. Like a lot of Cold War offensives by the West, this policy formulated under the Carter administration and then accelerated under Reagan had unintended and disatrous consequences.
