Some of you sound like a bunch of cry babies....why should we be first when no one else has done it? Why not? Mr. Obama's campaign theme has been about change. I was hoping one of the changes proposed is working together.

P.S. to the responder who said FU, I say sit on it and rotate.
Working together doesn't mean putting a member of the other party in the VP slot. That would mean a plane crash, a bullet, or some other tragedy would change the party in the White House.

The changes president Obama CAN make, and I expect him to, are transparency, honesty, and competence in the workings of the White House.

I expect him to use members of the other party more than has been done in the past, and possibly put several in his cabinet.

His record for signing or vetoing bills sent to him will be much different than Bush's was, or McCain's will be.

His priorities will be different. The priorities of a democratically controlled congress will be different.

We will begin taking steps in directions better for the nation and the world, but it will be a long journey, and we, the people, will need to show some patience, a quality that seems severely lacking in the average American citizen.

Yeah those deluxe egg timers and cell phones are expensive. Pair them up with a 20 year old arty shell from the Iran/Iraq war and hope it goes boom at the right time.

Tell me Cookie...who else spends one 10th of what our annual defense budget is?

Nobody is investing "heavily" in new weapons technology. More scare tactics from the radical right. Give it up...it doesn't work. We spend 623 Billion a year in defense... more than all other countries combined.

Maybe because we're the least free of all the democracies on the earth? Could it be because we've lost freedoms at a breath-taking pace?

Could it be we should look within our borders for those who would take away our freedoms?

Take the $632B and give it to the FBI, then watch D.C. turn into a prison.
