Dan Boren won't endorse Obama.
Pelosi should castrate this guy politically and we should make sure he is enjoying his LAST days in our government.
************************************************** ********************** Okla. Dem calls Obama liberal, declines to endorse By Tim Talley, Associated Press Writer | June 10, 2008 OKLAHOMA CITY --Democratic Rep. Dan Boren of Oklahoma said Tuesday Barack Obama is "the most liberal senator" in Congress and he has no intention of endorsing him for the White House. However, Boren will vote for Obama at the Democratic National Convention in Denver in August and will vote Democratic on Nov. 4. "I think this is an important time for our country," Boren said in a telephone interview. "We're facing a terrible economic downturn. We have high gasoline prices. We have problems in our foreign policy. That's why I think it's important." Boren, the lone Democrat in Oklahoma's congressional delegation, said that while Obama has talked about working with Republicans, "unfortunately, his record does not reflect working in a bipartisan fashion." Boren, a self-described centrist, is seeking a third term this year in a mostly rural district that stretches across eastern Oklahoma. "We're much more conservative," Boren said of district. "I've got to reflect my district. No one means more to me than the people who elected me. I have to listen them." He called Obama "the most liberal senator in the U.S. Senate." Hillary Rodham Clinton carried Boren's district with 66 percent of the vote in the state's presidential primary in February. Boren said his endorsement became a moot point when Clinton suspended her campaign, making Obama the presumed nominee. "That process is really over with," he said. "Our nominee is not my first choice." But Boren said it will be a historic moment for the nation when the party nominates Obama, who would be the first black president if elected. "I celebrate it," Boren said. "It's a testament to the Democratic Party." In April, Boren's father, former governor, one-time senator and current University of Oklahoma President David Boren, announced his support for Obama. ************************************************** ***************** Contact info for Boren: Washington, D.C. 216 Cannon House Office Building Washington, D.C. 20515 (202) 225-2701 (202) 225-3038 fax Last edited by RK77; 06-10-2008 at 03:22 PM.. |

We can't expect everyone to support him. It's not going to matter in the long run anyway, this person is just making a statement.

I don't understand the anger over an endorsement. He is still voting for Obama at the convention.
Yet you want to castrate him over not endorsing....wow. No hate there RK....right. |

Have Pelosi and Dean lost control of the message?
At the same time that McCain is working his ass off to paint Obama as too liberal here comes this guy who was supporting Hillary (who is rated as 94% liberal to Obama's 95% liberal) working to HELP McCain! This to me UNDERSCORES the need NOT to trust any former Hillho!!! They are sick folks who have such extraordinary little poltical savvy that they will damage the election and the party out of SHEER STUPIDITY!!! Suggesting that they will vote for Obama in November is irrelevant if they are planning to work tooth and nail against him everyday until then. OR---do their HILLHO sneak dance every step of the way! |

It does seem that hill supporters are not only sore losers, but also traitors to their political ideals. If they are so foolish as to cut off their noses, it will be their sense of smell they lose, not ours.

They have been instructed to infiltrate make friends and be prepared to try to flip those folks in August. We have had 4 join Obama groups claiming they want to work for Obama but so far all they are doing is causing shit storms! They are trying to campaign inside the Obama groups for Hillary's healthcare plan and for her bigoted views. It is really sad! They are also passing PRO- McCain material around under the guise of FYI! It really is pitiful! |

Not all of them. Some people want to do what is right for the country. If the Primary fight isn't finished and we wish to continue....I still can. I have plenty of things to say about the process and the candidate. But I am respecting the Obama supporters here by.....first listening to them and doing more than just hear them but to actualy try to understand.

why support Obama in the Convention, and then not in the general?
I'd have more respect for the guy if he just said " he's too liberal ( or whatever reason) - and I won't support him" He's trying to have it both ways. maybe he's trying not to get tossed out of the party, but still make his statement. ![]() It's pretzel logic to me. |
