Hmmmm where to begin.... I guess I could start by asking for your statements to at least resemble the truth in a superficial way but I guess that is a bit much to ask from a right-wing nutjob.

Champions heinous Partial Birth Abortion. Really? I was just under the impression that he supported a woman's right to choose? Seriously, do you know anyone that "champions" abortion? Let me ask you a question, would you really demand that a woman or a child to carry a rapist's child to term?

Calls for huge tax increases to fund international welfare. Where was this? I must have missed it, is this the info you only are able to somehow get from Rush Limbaugh or Ann Coultier? From what I have read he is goign to lower taxes on everyone but the very wealthiest among us. If you look at his plan vs McCain's, the only people who pay more in taxes under Obama's plan are people earning 200k plus. Somehow I don't think you will be paying more in taxes. International welfare? What is that? We already send billions in aid to foreign countries but I havn't heard anyone talk about increasing it.

Called to slow development of combat technology. Havn't seen this message from Obama either but I'm not sure it isn't such a bad idea. As it is we develop tech and then just sell it to other countries or it is stolen from us and then we have to develop tech to combat the tech that made its way into the hands of countries like China.

Right now we have Bush running to the Saudis every other month to beg them to pump more oil, they pat him on the head and send him on his way with a "maybe". Isn't it about time we talked to our "enemies"? Some of my best friends today are people who didn't like me when they first met me.

Argued Jesus condoned gay unions. Again, when was this speech? Before or after his speech on race? As far as gay people go, I have nothing against them personally and I personally think the decision of who should be allowed to marry should be left to the church. I think we have it backwards, the Church should decide who can marry(religious) and the State should decide who to give civil unions(contract) I'm a big fan of seperation of Church and State, bad things tend to happen when religious nutbags get ahold of political power. Like invading the wrong country because "God told me to invade Iraq"

Calls for the decriminalizing of marijuana. WOW hadn't heard that but where do I sign up? I don't smoke, and don't do drugs and have one beer or glass of wine about once or twice a year. I personally feel alcohol is a much more dangerous drug than marijuana. Prohibition didn't work on alcohol and it hasn't worked with marijuana, all that has happened is we have lots of non violent offenders sitting in prison and costing the taxpayers money. Legalize it and tax it like cigarettes are and we would be swimming in new tax revenues and we would cut off alot of the illegal drug traffic from south of the boarder.

And please, only links to reputable sources, the last time I tried to check out one of the sites I think you are getting this from, it tried to upload a virus to my computer.

It's time to shame the idiots out of the process of political debate. Many have predicted that America's spirit of egalitarianism would eventually do us in. H. L. Mencken once predicted that our system would one day ensure that a clinical idiot would occupy the Oval Office and he was dead on. The "two sides to every story" bullshit that was drummed into our heads as children must end, at least in the case where hysteria, racism and flat out superstition are given equal time with truth and plausibility. No more intelligent design over Evolution. No more lies about war. No more portrayals of historical innacuracies as a subject for debate. It's high time to kick liars, thieves and morons out of the public square, you can do it with facts not suppression.

This wasn't from a conservative website, it was just from a poker website of all things. I have alot of friends there and I have been on friendly terms with the author of the original post. Generally there isn't much political discussion over there but I felt compelled to respond. The website it is on is run by Disney so anything above a G rating typically gets deleted which is part of the reason I reposted it here. I guess these will be some of the talking points during the general election, so be prepared.

The thing is, his remarks weren't even original so they are already out there and are being linked and forwarded as fact. The Peter Heck Show - On the Air Look down at the bottom right and the scrolling text and I think you will see something familiar. Yes, Google is a wonderful thing.
