It was a while back, but one of the things that keeps me "harping".

Unfortunately when the attorney that instructed us to see a specific psychiatrist for the "abuse of process" dropped the issue. My girlfriend was dog bitten that attorney was also supposed to look into the prior representation, but he stole his clients settlements and deserted them.

And then ......... this country is so corrupt, classic predator / prey relationship, "rule of law" only applies to those that can buy it (I have letters).

My goodness. You two have had more than your share of troubles. It's easy to get down on life, nation, politics when so much has gone wrong. I'd say you are overdue for some good luck -- I'm sending some positive thoughts your way. Hoping for better days ahead.

What people should be concerned about is that these "leaders" / "authorities" are avoiding addressing the issues that we experienced. Selective application of the rules. For my police assault, I can still claim that I pointed out the store video, the officer misrepresented the events that occurred, the attorney talked me into accepting a guilty plea and the judge went on a five minute rant on the prosecutor for giving me a "deal" without hearing the case.

Whether my perspective of events is incorrect or not is irrelevant now, it is how they address issues like ours and that we have unresolved issues with the counsel of ten attorneys, that is relevant. I know the events in that store, yet we were railroaded, what else are they doing and overlooking. Our experiences are at the County and State level, now I see parallels at the Federal level - the infection is spreading. Now the questions come:

• How many others have been damaged ?
• Why did the Virginia State Bar change policy the year my girlfriends attorney deserted, Bush was elected and avoid "strategy" complaints ?
  • The complaint metric is not collected so the institution has no idea how many people have been damaged by its members. Yet it claims diligence of its members - this claim has no foundation.
  • If attorneys do not have incentive to diligently represent their clients, the client is not represented and he courts may not hear the case.
• Consider that our experiences are not "unique" so how many angry people are out there - stewing in silence ?

Drops in the pond, the consequences of these policies are only being identified by the symptoms. Crime is increasing so there is a demand to beat more heads and feed the machine. This causes another cascade locally, similar to the one we are experiencing in Iraq. As I have repeatedly said, the institutions are not collecting accurate metrics. The only metric collected is on those that can afford or choose to fight prolonged court battles. The response to issues similar to ours from "malpractice" members is that such cases are expensive to process, the victim is supposed to drop the issue.
