The Obama Salute Will Be A Campaign Issue

No matter how much he practices, it will probably be a campaign issue for Obama the same way it was with Bill Clinton.

Bill Clinton never liked saluting and never did it well. He always seemed uncomfortable with his role as Commander in Chief.

I think this is a problem for nonmilitary men because the simply don't get the practice.

It is a natural for McCain because he has done it so much.

Just wait until the pictures and the videos come in.

They might not come in on this trip, but they will surface.

And the salute will become an issue. Because the proper style is in the eye of the beholder.

Plus it is another way to question Obama's patriotism.

Now Obama is pretty cool [almost as supercool as Eman] so maybe he will get this. But I don't ever remember seeing Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton saluting any troops during their campaigns. Now Ronald Reagan was a 'good saluting chicken hawk.'

This amounts to another mutation a the "flag lapel pin" issue..It is irrelevant, and if people would stop taking the "Access Hollywood" approach, to the manner in which we select our trusted leaders, maybe we would enjoy better results from our election process

But America 'is' Access Hollywood. How do you think Ronnie Reagan got elected twice.

Or we are Green Acres and the Beverly Hillbillies.

How do you think GW got elected. He expertly sells that corn pone.

Hell I could even say that GW sells it better than Bill Clinton because GW was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

Maybe EMan can help him with the military thing. Of course, mercenaries might not count. Obama might need his own Oliver North though and EMan stands ready.
