Obama on O'Oreilly

I know you guys don't watch Fox:
but did anyone catch the Obama interview tonight?

I got it on DVR, and will watch it later -
just wanted to see the reactions here?

Obama was poised and didn't let that jerk push him around, I must say that Bill was as respectful as he possibly could be...BUT
it's a three part series and BIll claims "sparks fly"

Obama admitted the surge did quell violence.

I'll have to record the repeat @ 4AM

I'd rather eat cat shit than watch Oreilley. But I have to see how Obama does.

he did a good job with the Hillary interview too.

Oreilly is too slick to get caught up in a major figure, with his bias.

FOX has a neat trick of overstacking the right wing guests,
and asking them " what is wrong with the libs? " lol

A bit pompous, but one supposes he cannot help himself. He would not
permit Obama to completely answer some questions.
I was a bit disappointed that Obama, while he did point out that the
"Sunni Awakening" was as instrumental, if not more so, than the "Surge"
in reducing violence, did not mention that the "Sons of Iraq" are on our
payroll, and while ridding Iraq of Al Qaeda meddlers is in everyone's
best interest, we have no idea where the Sunni loyalties will land after
the checks stop coming. There is little reason to believe they will sit
idly by and be ruled by Shiites.

Otherwise, Obama handled himself well.

It's been some time since I've read much detail about the ME at all, my attention's been on Sudan. I'll have to do a bit of reading on Iraq again.

What a post. Thank you very much, winthrop.

I thought Obama did well, but I dread the out-of-context sound bites that O'Reilly will use from now until November 4.
