McCain will be owned by Barack Obama.

In the language of the day, OWNED means lost to. However, in McCain's case OWNED in reference to corporations takes on the language of my day - Bought and Paid Off.

Exactly.

And it should be something like "In November, Obama will have pwned McCain."

And if someone doesn't know, that is how you spell owned when online gaming.

Oh and ah yes I do play Halo 3 and COD4 and stuff but no I don't use "l33t" talk at all. It's mostly younger kids that do that.
So if we said, 'Much to her chagrin, Palin was pwned by Biden', she might not understand what we were saying...

Owned by the lobbyists would be a double entendre

Both meanings (new and traditional) apply!

You would be communicating well over the heads of republicans then (and a good percentage of independents cause a LOT of them call themselves independent cause they are too confused to understand what is going on)

Anymore---those independents who are making an intellectually based choice to disassociate from either party are going to have to get a more respectable way of referring to themselves.......they should be embarassed by the company they are keeping presently.

Lol, we had a big week a few months ago explaining double entendres to one of our exhibitor service reps. This would have been a great example.

I know what you're saying, however whenever I get down about the fact that most Independent parties are fulla hacks, I look at the big two and feel much better about myself.
True Independents are more likely to be found in the 53% of eligible voters that don't vote, I'm afraid.

Do you consider people who choose a "third" party because it fits their own agendas "Independent?"

I don't.

And those people vote en masse.
