conserving energy AND creating jobs

I believe, possibly naively, that the area of energy conservation, or alternate sources will be the jobs of the near future.

Once their is the political will, and the incentives, we will see solar heating for homes, creating work installing it, and a host of other ideas come to fruition.

We'll be filling our car tanks at our local gas stations, but it won't be with gas.

Iceland is on the forefront of this, just a generation away from living on nothing but renewable energy http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/1727312.stm

Yes, I know.

Once this country gets the political will, we will follow this path.

it can create tons of good paying jobs as it saves the environment.

All those jobs will help pay down our debt.

Big potential for win/win here.

Some anti-hydrogen fuel people from the Bill Maher boards wouldn't believe me when i pointed this out to them over a year ago. The ran power and water to their refueling stations to produce hydrogen onsite.

Iceland is going geothermal......

Folks we have:
  • A Super Volcano in Yellowstone - talk about geothermal power......
  • Ocean currents and tides along the coasts.....
  • Agriculture for ethanol production.
  • Land and urban areas for wind and solar energy collection.
  • and Polywell.....
Instead our MIC (Morons In Charge) want to spend money killing people in another country.

Ethanol's a fraud. It does nothing to solve global warming.

I've never understood why people are so eager to throw money at the east.
I'm all for alternate power.

Oh, the algaey produces hydrogen. The way I heard it today from someone watching Glenn Beck [I'd never degrade myself so far as to watch it] he said they were using just any algae.

But you'd do better to cut foreign oil dependence by hydrogen fuel cars, electric cars and/or hydro-electric cars. Other options include methane collected from the Gulf of Mexico [produced by bacteria on the gulf floor and suspected in many Bermuda Triangle disappearances]. The reason why I think methane is valid is because combusting that turns a greater greenhouse gas into a lesser, CO2.

A microscopic green algae -- known to scientists as Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, and to regular folk as pond scum -- was discovered more than 60 years ago to split water into hydrogen and oxygen under controlled conditions. A recent breakthrough in controlling the algae's hydrogen yield has prompted a Berkeley, California, company to try to be first to commercialize production.
This is an interesting concept, pond scum beats oil......
