doesn't this falsely presuppose that conservatives only have babies that grow up to be conservatives and the same with liberals? it didn't work that way with me or my siblings. the country is becoming less and less conservative no matter who likes to breed.

the reason is obvious, the liberals spend a lot of time figuring out if they are straight, gay or bisexual, when they find out they are gay, of course they can't have children, or they are bisexual making even harder to find a mate with the same views or by the time they figure out they are straight they are so screwed up they are damaged goods that no one would consider having kids with them.

You are wrong about that. I'm neither gay nor bisexual nor are my friends. I actually have several republican gay friends. I think you need to go back to med school doc and learn so real facts. Why do you assume we liberals are gay or bisexual when it's mostly republicans who are closet gays?

"affluent" ppl tend to be busier & choose to have children later in life & smaller numbers are antiquate....

Poor ppl in poor countries have kids for economic gain... Poorer ppl in richer societies have more kids for other reasons... Largely unplanned......

a.) Use birth control until they have reached a point in their life where they are financially stable, and able to provide for their child
b.) Liberals are far more altruistic than conservatives, and are not afraid, or do not hate children with darker skin, or almond shaped eyes, and are therefore more likely to adopt. A very good decision considering their are far too many children living in poverty without parents, or parents who are able to take care of them
c.) Maybe some of us have just realized, "Why bother" Why bring more children into the world, raise them to respect the earth upon which they live, cherish the resources that bring them sustenance, when 35 miles out of the city, and up into the hills Ervis-Lee the 4 fingered moonshiner decides to give his 400 lb sister, Carly-Lee Meatbeef another belly fruit (who will grow up to vote republican to keep boys from kissing boys even if it goes against their economic interests).

Not really. I was one of those "60's, free love, acid, and the proverbial pothead" kids, and my parents were of the silent generation (20's-30's). My older sister was a 50's kid. Yes, the 50's were conservatives and moderates. (As is my sister.) I'm still the bleeding liberal.

Well put. My family is from the hills of West Virginia and all of them are Republican except me. Funny, now that they are older and having health problems they complain and bitch about the medical care and insurance companies and still vote Republican. Gee, wasn't it Nixon who came up wih the wonderful HMO's?

I consider myself rather conservative and I have taken the time to wait till I get married until I have kids. I know plenty of 'liberals' (whatever the fuck that means) that have made bad choices regarding children.
