I'll take it a step further and say not only don't we care about the future, but for today and into the future, most of our concerns are about ourselves and not mankind as a whole. We have become a self-serving greedy bunch who want everything for nothing and we want massive changes but gawd forbid if someone tries to change something in our little worlds!!

This is a recipe for disaster...

Regarding all the sheep who are herding towards Obama and the mythical word 'change', they all believe the necessary changes are going to positively benefit everyone. People don't understand that a huge amount of sacrifice will also be necessary long before we see the good. I have my doubts about so-called 'change' in the sense that all 'change' is to be considered great??

I completely agree with your whole post...particularly the part in bold. Self-entitlement is a big part of the problem.

To be quite honest, I've made the decision not to have my own biological kids just for this reason. I don't want to bring kids into this world and not knowing what kind of quality of life and future they will have. That's sad.

I would totally disagree w/ that reasoning. But hey it is your life........

Perhaps it is a less than ideal picture he paints.......... It is hardly ever ideal..............

If everybody waited for the ideal the animals would be running the show right now..............

I have given it quite some thought over the last few years...I feel pretty comfortable with the decision...but it's not like it's set in stone. This has nothing to do with "him" (whoever that is) painting a gloom picture or this thread .

May I ask what exactly you disagree with?

Not having kids...or as some believe choosing not to perpetuate your biological legacy, is a personal choice...and these choices cannot be judged by others.

Having biological kids is fine and adopting kids is equally fine depending on one's perspective. Or having no kids is perfectly fine

I agree. But since I brought it up, I can't complain of others judging me or putting it down...it's a free for all. It would be nice to have people respect other's beliefs and decisions instead of calling it a mistake just because they don't agree...but life is just not like that.

"lollipop" is the longest word typed with only the right hand...now you know
Using only my right hand, and I'm doing this at this very moment, I will type the longest word in the English language so here goes; antidisestablishmentarianism...whew!!

Just teasing you some...how about JOHNNY-JUMP-UP only using conventional right hand placement??
