Actually a really great public works program would be to build above and below ground canals to transport water to every inch of the US. It would certainly help to re-distribute the population...

Hear as in most places a front lawn in not an option. You gotta have grass.. I am right now going to go kayaking on the only undamed river in calif....... It use to run year (18 years ago or so) round down on the valley floor. Now the water just sinks into the depleted aquifer when it gets to down from the foothills. I have some property on the north folk of the river & it has never been dry that I have seen up there in the foothills....

So I will drive past all the green lawns out to highway 5........ & the irrigated on ramps........ All the landscape is watered & looks like your in Washington state or the north coast.. Ask Dr........ He lives here to........

The fish are missing in the delta & la wants more water.. Oh & I wont be doing any salmon fishing this season. Last season was the lowest on record..............

cya..............
Yeah, I'm not to sure what I think about the Greenbelt on and off ramps on the freeways.

Gotta love the Consumnes River, very beatiful and just a few miles away. I don't go there anywhere near enough. Maybe this summer I will start riding my bike out there.

I do have to say one thing. Food and water are human rights. California, was a key place to figure this out as damning of rivers and small streams to control water up stream or to redirect rivers away from towns was so prevalaint that lawas had to be inacted. Today you will see that the most basic human rights issues deal with water today.

Yes I am aware the colorado used to go all the way to the gulf...now it doesn't this has been a concern for a long time...

Well my rambling point was this......... They need to have policy not exclusively based on cost........ If it is bad for the environment or a sheer waste of resources it should not be allowed to happen just cause some fool has the money to make it happen............

That is rarely an issue in the USA.....

You buy it you can waste it..........

Close I am in the valley... Just south of sacto.......Elk Grove... We have the valley heat during the day but are very, very fortunate to get a delta breeze in the evening (most of the time) that cools us off....

I used to think someone in DC cared about the natural resources of the USA. The population growth is out of control and to make matters worse it is mostly concentrated. And people are migrating to the warmer areas...the southwest and southeast...and duh...warmer weather usually means less water. So the idiots in the Dept of Interior surely know the population growths and they know the water resources and they surely know when the shit hits the fan...but then again maybe not...

Our place is perched on a hilltop and I'm sure you know this area is all hills and valleys so even on hot days there usually is a wind coming off the ocean. I think we use the air-conditioning maybe 2-3 times a year. And we built the house to allow a good air flow...

Yep they usa has their head in the sand or perhaps somewhere else....

Restricting growth & movement of ppl is "unAmerican" but @ some point I think it is going to have to come to that........
