CNN is reporting that benazir bhutto had died.

wow. this will really shake things up in pakistan.

I don't think that is what killed her. She is not well liked universally in Pakistan. People forget she *was* prime minister and a ill effective one at that. She would never have succeeded in toppling the current administration. Furthermore, even if that did happen she would not have the support of the army which is arguably the key demographic in Pakistani political game.

We are playing a VERY dangerous game in Pakistan right now. I am leery to make predictions, but I believe that we will continue to support Musharraf as long as he is able to keep the radical elements "at bay." There is a vested interest here, the major one being the security of Afghanistan and the keeping the Taliban out.

It is sad that she had to die in such a manner, perhaps her death will rally people enough to reclaim their country. Either way, RIP.
