Alberta premier calls election-finally

provincial election for March 3. It's the first time he'll lead his Progressive Conservatives to the polls since replacing Ralph Klein a year ago.

The main issues of the 28-day campaign are expected to be affordable housing in the province's booming economy, better infrastructure, and Stelmach's plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

The Progressive Conservatives have led the province for more than 36 years. The party held 60 of 83 seats before Monday's election call.

Stelmach's main challenger is Alberta Liberal Leader Kevin Taft, whose party had 16 seats at dissolution.

Taft has said voters want a change of leadership.

yes i know it is provincial politics, but i am so damn happy we finally have another chance to give these fucking Conservatives the boot. i dont have much faith in my fellow Albertans though.
