Can you do time in some of those European countries for denying the Armenian holocaust???

Is it odd that in Europe ppl can be arrested by the government for denying holocaust........

In this country the politicians deny holocaust even though it is recognized by the ppl..........

Canada shipped one of their most notorious Holocaust Deniers (Ernst Zundel) back to Germany where it is totally illegal to deny the Nazi Holocaust. (Zundel considers the camps to have been health spas that the Jews should all be thankful for ... I'd love to see the look on the judge's face if he comes out with that in court ... especially if said judge happens to have had relatives who died in the camps.)

In a sense, a country that bans Holocaust denial and political parties associated with Holocaust denial cannot be considered a true/full democracy because laws like that bar certain subsects of said countries legal voting population from representation or an attempt for representation in their government. In the Unites States the Nazi Party USA can run a candidate in elections; a testement to how our system still protects basic voting rights and rights of political association at the expense of having a Fascist party in the race.

I can't speak for Europe as a whole because Europe isn't one country, it is (surprise surprise) a large collection of many countries. I get the feeling that by majority (especially in the UK) it is frowned upon, but freedom of speech dictates that you can say it if you wish. I wouldn't say it myself because I know how many people it would offend deeply and I also don't agree with deniars. Not that I know their full reasoning, but it seems an odd thing to deny the happening of.

This board is not run or supported by the US or any state government. It is privately owned and operated. While there is very good reason why we do not want our government involved in censoring speech, even loathsome speech, these considerations really don't apply to what one would allow in one's non-governmental living room.

Consequently, and assuming for the sake of argument that the First Amendment insulates from governmental interference the right of Nazis and their ilk to deny the deaths of millions of men, women and children, as a part of conscientiously applied program of diminishing the status and legal rights of Israeli Jews today, there is nothing that prevents the private folks here from shoving the words of Hitler and co directly back up their arses - from whence they originally dumped out.

In Houston, a while ago, while working in a hospital, a heavy set Mexican girl (16) came in with her mother complaining of abdominal pains. As I was about to ex-ray her ( a KUB ) we asked when her last period was. She didn`t know. An Ultra-sound reviled she was in labor. She kept saying "I`m not pregnant MOMA. She said that until she delivered a baby boy and it was set on here chest. She looked up at her mother and said "This is not my baby MOMA".

This is the kind of denial that it takes to say the holocaust never happened. Some people say it because they are so incredibly ignorant. Some because they are so fucking mean. And some because they can`t comprehend the truth.

They should all be beaten on the spot and told to never insult the memories of all those victims again. There is no doubt of what happened and these people stretch the limits of freedom of speech. I could be convinced to suspend their freedom if it is for no other purpose than to incite violence.
