@ the store she works @.... ANyone being hired for the last ten or so years has to undergo that test to be hired...........

If someone is using cocaine, they might be more apt to steal than a pothead,(unless the job is in a bakery!!!) and I might want to know this too. But if someone smokes pot on the weekends, and doesn't show up to work stoned, I don't see why they should be discriminated against. I don't think someone who drinks a case of beer over the weekend, will be fired, or not hired.

Let's not resort to shameless anti-drug propaganda. He doesn't have the disease because his mother did drugs, he has the disease because his mother did drugs while pregnant.
Regarding the random drug testing idea: Not bad, although maybe a social program would be better? Something like, a friend could notice the drug problems and notify the correct organizations. The friend could even be given some kind of reward money, potentially, which could possibly be paid out of the drug abusers pocket (sooner or later), sparing tax-payers the burden of being punished for the irresponsible behavior of others.
