Spitzer Quits But Other Public Figure May Be Linked to Escort Ring

Spitzer Quits But Other Public Figure May Be Linked to Escort Ring

At least one other New York public figure is involved in the prostitution ring investigation that brought down New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, according to lawyers in the case.

Prostitution... why is this illegal? Consenting adults, making a fair-trade. Spitzer should plead the 8th.

Let me take a stab...

Parents who have daughters think, "I don't want my daughter to be a prostitute, therefore prostitution must be evil.".

The 'caring' parents missed the fact by making prostitution illegal, they risk their daughters being both prostitutes and felons.

Government cannot stop your daughters from being prostitutes anyway. They become prostitutes because of your parenting.

I would like to see a politician tell everyone "No, it's none of your business." He should have made them remove him.

Yes. They don't just decide one day, 'IBM or Hooking?'. Prostitutes are made at home during childhood.

All Vice laws are idiotic.

What's the 8th?
In any case, you are right. Prostitution should not be illegal.
However, money laundering and tax evasion to pay over $4000/hr. should be and is illegal.
There's nothing wrong with paying for sex. This is a victimless crime.

That prostitution is a "victimless crime" is debateable. Personally, I'd rather it be legalized and regulated. It could ensure that the "ladies" are disease free, bring in tax revenue, and eliminate the pimps.
