Nature vs. Nurture is often a false dychotomy. My answer would be "yes" (I.E. both).

I guess my response would be 'who cares?'

Why is it a source of concern? Are we (the evolved) trying to fix it? Other people's sexual orientation has never impacted me, or society, in any negative way.

I'd be far more more interested in figuring out the root causes, of people who find other people's skin pigmentation problematic. Or locating the source of some people's belief that being born in a particular location, makes them more valuable than others.

The thing is, some people find peoples sexual orientation problematic. Also, if being gay is not genetic, then gays have no claim to civil rights, as it was somthing chosen later. If it is genetic, then it is inherent to the person, and as such, there are civil rights associated with it.

One answer:
lack of education.

The world is a mystical, scary place to people who have not gone to school.
They responde to anything different or unknown with fear
and that fear causes stupid, useless behavior.

Spread education.
In order to do that, we need to spread electricity.
