Gay: Nature vs. Nurture

I am a little curious to see what people think. Is being gay in your genes, a product of your environment, or a mix of the two?

I believe this has been answered. People are born with the predisposition. How could anyone claim 'environment' when people in gay-unfriendly places such as Texas and Utah still grow up to be gay, it's not like it was the cool thing to do.

And if you ask any gay guy, (haven't asked many lesbians this question), they'll tell you they knew they were gay at a very young age.

Personal experience, one of my mother's aunts had a child that was flaming from the age of three. Back then it wasn't talked about openly, but he did grow up to have a boyfriend, and unfortunately, caught AIDS and died some years ago. But seriously, if you had seen this kid at three you wouldn't have any doubts.

Yeah, that too.

Get the Gay OUT of politics. It's just a sexual preference. Like doing it Doggie-Style... though they don't have parades for Doggie-Style fans.

That's because the pavement scrapes their knees.

What is known with certainty is that what gender a person is attracted to is based on neurological pathways formed as an embryo and fetus. A gay man has the same features in the brain for sexual attraction as a straight woman, and a gay woman has the same features as a straight man.

What's unknown but likely are some genertic factors and conditions in the womb.

It is possible gayness can be caused by either nature or nurture.

Outside of the gay question,
the question of nature/nurture has been answered.
It is, always, both.

However, applying this to 'gay'
is, sort of,
like asking if nurture makes someone
Asian or 'black'.

Ask gay people.
They will tell you that, whether or not they wanted to be,
they are, reflexively, attracted.

A point about reflexes is important here.

When the doctor bangs your knee with a hammer,
that bang goes into the quadricep, up the nerve path,
to the spine and right back to the quad.
It never goes anywhere near the brain.
It is NOT a decision and never will be.

Everything about my nurture should have made me lez
but men - consistantly - look DELICIOUS to me
and women look like wimpy subsitutes.

Incidently, brain transplants cannot be done BUT
head transplants CAN. ( !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ??????????? ).
( throw all that you think of yourself away except... )
If I had one, I be REALLY gay.
I'd be in the men's room SUCKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh, baby!!!

Woops. Sorry. How do I move it? Or do I just ask a mod to do it?
