National Healthcare in the US
59% Of Doctors Now Back Universal Health Care
Reuters March 31, 2008 More than half of U.S. doctors now favor switching to a national health care plan and fewer than a third oppose the idea, according to a survey published on Monday. The survey suggests that opinions have changed substantially since the last survey in 2002 and as the country debates serious changes to the health care system. Of more than 2,000 doctors surveyed, 59 percent said they support legislation to establish a national health insurance program, while 32 percent said they opposed it, researchers reported in the journal Annals of Internal Medecine. Bring on more like this, everyone. The blatant lies and negative spin given by corporations about UHC is a crime. Americans supporting privatized profit on health-care are a national shame.

a recent study published in preventable medical deaths....19 countries studied....last place was US, where as Canada was 7th....it was also noted the US had one of the most expensive health care systems of the 19 countries studied but the highest number of preventable deaths....all while this systems eats up..what was it??? 14% of your GDP to insure 85% of your population? Wile Canada's was 9% (I think) to insure 100% of the population
The WHO (rating 191 member nations) ranked Canadians 35th in overall health while Americans 72nd..... It's true the Canadian system isn't perfect (what is?)...but this is a perfect opportunity to study what's wrong with ours when setting up your own, imo |

For a long time I think it worked pretty well. I agree that we are facing huge issues here. I am not willing to jump on the UHC bandwagon yet. The cost of something like that would be prohibative...and how would it work anyways? Would it just be like medicare? I have seen how it works in Europe and Canada and I dunno if I would want that. |

Is there really any evidence either way though? I haven't see it. It's alot like gobal warming IMO. There is alot of opinion but not alot of facts out there to depend on.

No, Climate change crisis is no longer debatable unless you confuse opinion for fact of oil copr sponsored "think-tanks" and an intergovermental commission reporting to the UN. Use the google.

![]() Sometimes I get a little carried away with this stuff. Anyways, I can't honestly say I have done a lot of "research" cause I dunno if the stuff I pull up on google is any good. Have any suggestions? |
