I understand and agree with the sentiment, just not the reality. The Klan's politics and resulting membership leads to members that would commit these kind of crimes. Yet , it's not the Klan itself that did so. So, protecting their rights is paramount in the fight for our rights as well.

Bullshit. The klan is based on murder and terrorism.

The gulf between the klan and the rest of us is as wide as any gap between us and al-Qaeda.

They deserve a fair trial on the charges of terrorism, aiding terrorism, murder, conspiracy to commit same and whatever other charges they've maneged to dodge over the past one hundred forty plus years. On conviction, the stiffest penalty the law allows.

Were I not such a Due Process of Law fan I'd have them dumped off deep into al-Qaeda teritory and let them kill each other.

I'm a firm beleiver in Jimmy Carter's policy of non-negotiation with terrorists... foreign or domestic.

Well, we went back to Selmer today and spent about 3 hours at the city park. And in spite of what The KKK thinks, Selmer is doing just fine without them.

A group of teenagers, black and white gathered under the main pavilion and was listening to music and doing a little boxing. All I had was a camera phone or I would have taken a few pictures.

People like the Klansmen are fading away little by little.

The more they run their mouths, the less people take them seriously.

I myself dont think they're much of a threat anymore. They roll into town, make a public spectacle of themselves and vanish without a trace. They're like a travelling freak show. Kinda pathetic and sad IMO.

I think this says it all. In Chicago we had the Nazis that won court cases to "march", but it looked a lot like your photos, a few Nazis only a whole lot more police. This was in the 70's, since then the number of people that even pay attention to these hate groups has been steadly dropping. Like you say, they can't even get on network news anymore, and network news LOVES that kind of crap.
