Selmer Tennessee, the home of Buford Pusser, Mary Winkler the preacher husband killer, and the site of the downtown Drag Racing tragedy a few months back, today was the proud host of a Ku Klux Koward protest against ‘social injustices”

I came cruising through town about 2 this afternoon on the way to the river and amidst the thousand spectators and supporters, I caught the sight of the white robes with red trim next to the courthouse. The podium had been set up on the courthouse walk with a big brass emblem that read KKK. There were several flags behind it. The only one I recognized was the American flag, but most likely, the confederate flag as well as the Swastika were there also.

Although I had mini-me in the passenger seat, I had to get a couple of pictures.
I took a couple out the window as I drove by, and then stopped up the street a bit and took a couple more.
However, the most interesting thing I saw that day was the enormous oak tree shown below, or rather what was left of it.

It seemed to me, that even though Selmer is redneck central, there really seemed to be more spectators than supporters. It was easy to pick them out of the crowd. Kind of a redneck version of “Gaydar”
You could see several street corners with younger people, black and white and even some purple hair goth kids standing around together.

When the speaker began his rant, what seemed like a couple hundred from the North side of the street, walked across to the courthouse lawn. By this time, we were already back in our vehicle and as the last if the people crossed the street, we drove towards the courthouse. I snapped one last picture and got the fuck outta there. But as we drove past, you could hear the crowd heckling the speaker as he bitched about the whatever it is that these people bitch about.

The whole scene was a drag…..except for the tree.

People who hate "injustice" are typically living in an unjust mindset to begin with. Ignorance is it's own heart disease. All you can do is hope they learn their lesson, if not, all that inbreeding will wipe them out eventually.

Of course, this is coming from a white guy who has only been cheated out of a few bucks in his lifetime, and not the kind of fool who thinks he knows what's best for everybody else.
