Jobs In Politics

Is there any way to get a job as a political mercenary? I like politics, but I also like flexibility. Getting tied to a schedule is something I like to avoid.

Where ya been? As things stand, politics are altogether mercenary, which makes politicians Mercenaries. Blackwater, with a billfold instead of a bazooka.

Flexibility? Thy name is Congressional Recess. Plus, free travel.

Perfectly understandable...any reasonable person would prefer maximum liberty.

But, again, where ya been? You have DEFINED American politics by your wish list.

I don't know exactly what a political mercenary is... sounds cool though. I suppose it could be any number of jobs. Maybe someone needs a good solution or idea or strategy or whatever it might be. Sort of like an employee, but more flexible. They bring you the job, and offer the pay, and you say yes or no.

Could be good. They could use the stuff politically, and you could get payed to help the country.

Just ask Mark Penn, or Bob Shrum. They'll teach you all you need to know about the biz. And the great thing is, you can be a total incompetent, and have conflicts of interest as big as a house and it doesn't matter.

Hell, I helped run a winning City Councilors campaign, so I think I have a better track record than Shrum already.

Penn's replacement as Hillary's chief strategist, Geoff Garin,
is a real winner. On Tim Russert Sunday morning, he declined
to answer most questions because he "had only had the job for
two weeks." (I guess he wasn't reading the papers.) He has no charisma, just like his boss, and barely a heartbeat.

Of course, we all kow Penn still has the job -- he just can't be on
television.

Find a revolution somewhere and join it.

When your not fighting off counter revolutionaries you can execute your political duties with not too much worry about schedules and such.

I was too young at the time, but TrueBlueAmerican could have made a career in Venezuela during the revolutionary days. They are always on the lookout for smart and dedicated people.
