Given our historical propensity to Off The Opposition, whether the candidate of the meteoric popularity is requiring or requesting heightened protection seems to me to be a point of some validity.

The sudden harshness of both campaigns has probably heightened the ire of the racists and misogynists to the point extra security is a good idea.
