Rioting in the streets

I am just curious how many feel there will be rioting in the streets if Hillary wins the democratic ticket or when McCain wins the election in November. I personally feel there is a very good chance this will occur. If you feel this will happen should it affect the way you vote?

Emphatically, I do not think that any American should permit themselves to be intimidated into altering their vote by anyone, including their own spouse or family.

But I do sense that we are on a track to violence that will not contain itself to movie screens and other countries, the way we like our violence.

This, at a time when our National Guard are worn thin and, in some cases, not immediately available. California borrowed someone else's for our fires...thank you, to whichever states' taxpayers those were. Were you recompensed?

This is wishful thinking on your part Cowpoke, so I'm not sure I even want to answer but I'll give it a shot. No, I don't think that will happen,no riots at all, the American public has been lulled into a SOMA induced like state to the point where they will believe almost anything they're told by the powers that be, your blatant support of this pointless war in Iraq is proof that you're part of that massive, mushy middle of pliant peasants. Democrats are no different, if this happens, there'll be bullshit speeches about coming together for the "common good", McSame will make mince meat out of Hillary and we'll have at least another four years of Fascism in drag as Democracy. I'll lay odds you're popping wood just thinking about all this right now, eh Hoss?

I dunno yet, I would have to see how things go. I would vote for Hilary if Obama didn't get the nomination. The only difference between McCain/ Hilary IMO is healthcare and the war in Iraq. Those would be the deciding issues for me.

There are riots when football championships are won. With the numbers of very young (many unemployed) people that support Obama it would be a suprise if there was not a riot. Mature people that have jobs do not riot. I totally agree with you. Never be intimidated into voting for or against anything you feel is right.

I remember when I was in Camp Pendleton years ago many marines had to help with the out of control California fires. Is the National Guard usually the ones that fight these fires? Do you think the Obama supporters would try to take advantage of what they think is a stretched National Guard force?

Not really.

During the Rodney King riots, I could see the fires from my bedroom balcony. Not that there wasn't key real estate and plenty of police and National Guard between me and the bedlam, which occurred in the rioters' own neighborhoods...I was in no danger whatever from the riots.

But I could see it. That's how close what used to be called ghettos but I think that's not PC, that's how close socioeconomically oppressed and racially segregated turfs typically are to people whose lives are literally as different as white is to black.

I draw attention again to how many of our National Guard resources have been diverted to Iraq.

That riots are unlikely is a statistical matter. We don't usually have riots, no matter what. What we've had SOME riots. What's the plan? We NEVER seen to have any contingency plans.

Or maybe "they" DO have contingency plans. Maybe this whole thing is right on schedule.

It is continually a mystery to me that we attribute such diabolical wizardry to neoconservatives, then arrogantly presume that Democratics...notably ineffective politicians...have suddenly got the upper hand. We say that the media is a whore to big business and a pimp for big government, then continue to listen to them tell us what's what.

Of course they would! But not to worry: Hillary Clinton will
nuke 'em.

Firefighters fight fires. But when firefighters are overwhelmed, they call in firefighters from surrounding areas and/or National Guard. That's what our National Guard is FOR...assisting and protecting Americans and especially American property when situations get, or are liable to get, outta hand.

The question is not whether Obama supporters would try to take advantage of the KNOWLEDGE that our National Guard resources are importantly diminished, but whether ANYONE would.

If there is debate about who really pulled off 9/11, if there is debate about who really pulled off certain assassinations, there can be debate about who incites riots. Charles Manson never killed anyone, yes?
