Hmm... Like Euro? Well, they did this to streamline local commerce on the small scale, and lust for power on the larger one. I mean, it makes sense and i don't think it's bad, but all they are doing is trying to catch up to the US in terms of economic power. A single country in Europe is nothing, much like a single state in the US. European Union on the other hand is a major powerhouse, if managed properly. But US already has well developed interstate commerce and single currency between them...

ICC? Sounds too much like a victor's court to me... If ICC could ever bring NATO commanders to court, i may have had a different opinion, but that's unlikely to happen. As is, it looks like victors judging the losers... Pointless, imo.

To put bluntly, i think all of those ideas are good for Europe, but only because Europe tries to catch up to the US in it's efficiency... As a US citizen, i think i should focus more on what will make US better in the long run, there is no need for US to catch up to US, thus no need to surrender our sovereignty....

Your thread is sorely mislabeled. Despite the U.N.'s objections to some U.S. policies it still remains a tool of the U.S. and the other four of the "security" council.

Well, as i recall from Bill Blum's book, US and Israel stand out as greatest violators of UN resolutions... Or something like that.

Perhaps he was hoping for something else............

Personally I would appreciate a lot more cooperation w/ the world body.......

Something to rein in &/or hold the King in check........

Well, considering the current situation... What makes you think the world body won't be in thrall of the King?

Well, since US is still the top dog (for how long i'm not so sure), do you think US will still carry a major influence on any international body it chooses to dominate? So... even if US were to submit to UN authority... like Heretic mentioned, it would make little difference.
