What Has the Democratic Congress Done?

Seriously...it's been a couple years now since they've gained control....and squat has been accomplished....and meanwhile they're using the Iraq war as leverage to increase domestic spending while doing nothing about ending the war...so basically they're just further increasing our debt...just recently they've proposed giving billions to "Spruce up" foreclosed property(read give it to banks that foreclose) and now specifically Pelosi is working to overcome a possible Bush Veto to a $300 BILLION dollar bi partisan farm bill.

I vowed...back when I cast my votes to help elect Dems to congress that if they didn't do anything to right the wrongs of the past years that they would not get my support again....

It looks like I'm going to have to make good on that promise....

What Has the Democratic Congress Done?

Locked the barn door after the horses escaped.

Beat a dead horse.

Gave away the cow when the milk was free.

Cried over spilt milk.

Not seen the forest for the trees.

Fought fire with lighter fluid.

Called kettles black. And allies racists.

Cut off their noses to spite their faces.

Shot themselves in both feet.

And been slow as molasses in January.

To name a few.

Well, they did accomplish 1 thing. They proved that Bush actually could veto a bill before he left office.

That's what I was thinking. Bush's veto stamp didn't even bear his fingerprint until the Dems took Congress. And they don't have close to the numbers to over ride.

I'm not happy with them either, I wanted blood, they could have made a lot more noise but mostly they rolled over. I give them a small bit of slack because they didn't have the numbers to force the issue. But I wonder if they would have if they did have the power.

eh...that aside they are increasing spending and even using their continued support for the war as leverage to increase it....one of the things they ran on was that they were going to reign in federal spending....they are doing the OPPOSITE...they're just like the R's talked a big game about fiscal responsibility but don't follow up...

If that is their mindset then it just leads me to believe that we need the executive and the legislative split between the two parties to ensure a stale mate so that neither party can pass their crap through.

They didn't run up as much debt as the republicans per year.

Outside of that you're right, they've spent two years enabling the right wing and showing ZERO spinal fortitude.
