That was very well stated. I can only say that many went with it because their only their only other choice was death. If you can kill someone just because of their nationality or religion, it's not to far fetched to believe many went along just to live.

Let me leave you with this....from the Musical Cabaret;

What Would You Do?

With the time rushing by,
What would you do?
With the clock running down,
What would you do?

The young always have the cure:
Being brave, being sure and free.
But imagine if you were me.
Alone like me
And this is the only world I know
Some rooms to let,
To some other lifetime, even so.

I'll take your advice,
What would you do?
Would you pay the price,
What would you do?

Suppose simply keeping still,
Means you managed until the end.
What would you do,
My brave, young friend?

Grown old like me,
With neither there'll be no wish to run.
Grown tired like me,
For her is forbid when day is done
Grown wise like me,
Who isn't in war with anyone?
Not anyone!

With the storm in the wind,
What would you do?
Suppose you are unafraid and wise,
Being told what the choice must be.

Go on, tell me...

I will listen...

What would you do?...

If you were me!

More likely the futility and overeliance of the Maginot Line, and the Blitzkrieg type of invasion the German;s used.

I haven't read the entire thread, but anti-Semitism has been rampant for centuries in Europe by the time of Hitler. He was basically preaching to the choir about the Jews. But let us not forget the Gypsies and infirmed and gay that alsio met a similiar fate,

exactly....When Germany was forced to sign the treaty of Versailles after WWI, many believed it was part of a huge Jeswish/Communist conspiracy to humiliate Germany.
The whole 'rise of the movement ' was a lethal combination of anti-semitism, anti-communism, racism and ethnic nationalism stirred in with a good dose of economic depression....everyone was looking for someone to blame, it seems...

I think you're oversimplifying things...of course it was a factor...but not the only factor as so many would have you believe....

Or were Germans nationalist, bigoted pricks before Hitler which is why they elected him and were his willing executioners?

Also...was it unique to Germany? Or were the surrounding countries like France, Belgium etc. equals or near equals in their nationalistic, bigoted tendencies?
The second one.

In the cliched "A Perfect Storm". which is why the Marshall Plan was so instrumaental in post WWII reconstruction for Europe and japan under Mac Arthur. See we americans used to be able to learn from previous mistakes. I guess because the retard dodged real military service he thought war was like Hollywood. fucking idiot!
