Why would you bring it up?... and then assume that more racist will vote for him because he is black than that will vote against him for the same reason?

I listened to Michael Moore (critical of everything in America) speak the other day and he made the statement that this country needed a woman or blackman as president. He said it has been ruled by white men with nothing but bad results. Is this not the most racist statement you have ever heard. It is equivalent to saying that all blacks are criminals because they have such a high crime rate. If you vote for Obama just because he is black you are a racist.

Obama gives good speeches or at least the first couple of times you hear him. The problem with someone who's only talent is good speech is eventually we will bore with him. There should be some substance in his speeches. So far all I have seen is pep rallies.

He will not pull the troops out of Iraq as so many of you believe he should. The reason is the majority of congress and the American people don't want it to happen until goals have been met.

Do you agree with his economic views? What are they?

Please tell me a reason why anyone would want to vote for Obama.
You know something Cowpoke, I've got to hand it to you. The lousy quality of the writing, the complete inanity of your post tells me you've at least stopped plagiarizing those shitty, right wing red meat sites and relied on your own wits, such as they are. Based on your past history, I'd say you are bored with Obama's speeches precisely because they do have substance and are not the mindless, flag waving variety that pique your interest. To be honest, I don't think the economic situation will change that radically under an Obama administration. The powers that be, aka the rich white boys you worship in such a sickening and mawkish fashion, will still be firmly in control. K Street will stay open for business. Even if a majority of the Legislative branch and the President declared total withdrawal from Iraq, it would take us five to ten years to pull out and with 70% of the public according to most polls dead set against the war, it's utter bullshit on your part to say they "support the goals." No Hoss, the reason I'll vote for Obama is the US Supreme Court. We have to reverse the tide of Fascism that you and your ilk wallow in and SCOTUS is a mighty fine place to start. Granted, I'd rather see the USA Patriot Act completely dismantled in the legislative branch, but given the cowardice shown by one party and the contempt for the rule of law by the other, I'll take my chances with the judges, especially if there's a counterbalance to the pig Scalia, his toadies Roberts and Alito, and E Tard's Uncle Clarence. Now, why don't you find yourself a nice, right wing echo chamber where other people will agree that a picture of a college prof standing on the American flag is more of a threat to our country than a band of war criminals who get their jollies out of stomping on the Constitution.

Out of eleven responses, the only smidgen of substance is ibex finally saying that he would like Obama's SCOTUS appointments.

That says alot about Obama supporters. You don't even know why you want him to be President.

Keep drinking that Kool-Aid.

I don't recall voting for this war. I don't recall anyone in this administration even asking. They did everything they did/could to hide & lie about what they were doing
Just because a poll says the American people are not pleased with the way the war in Iraq is going does not mean they want to pull everybody out. Sure there are some that wish to run home and hope we will not be bothered by people from that region. Many feel such as I that we need to be more severe in combating our enemy. I am afraid that politicians have endangered the lives of our troops by playing politics. Rules of engagement should not be decided by politicians.

Now back to the thread.....Why should anyone vote for Obama?

I mean, let's face it, we didn't have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I'm not saying we should bring it back; I'm just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.

Rush may be a racist also. I have not heard the above statements.

It should be said that the GOP is scared to death of Obama.

Why?

The GOP understands that Obama is the first Democrat in decades, that reeks of being a true Christian, and not just one that babbles about it like Republicans do. That although Obama couldn't get the hard right evangelicals, he should retain the nice slice of evangelicals that left the GOP in 2006 because of all the scandals.

That the YOUNGER evangelicals, especially, are not as rigid as their parents or grandparents, and that someone like Obama could appeal to them. The plan was - what would happen to the GOP if Obama was able to KEEP the evangelicals that left them in 2006, and just slice off a little bit more?

Game.Set.Match for the Democrats up and down the line.

The GOP will be feeding off the bottom for decades to come.
According to your post the only reason you have for voting for Obama is that you think he is a real christian and a democrat. Don't you think there should be more?
