NBC News. Are they conservative?

When I watch nat'l news, I usually watch NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. Not that I care for it all that much, it's just more tolerable than ABC News and Katie Couric is a bad joke.
I noticed that they seem to give a lot of positive coverage to the war in Iraq.
Do they lean a little to the right?

More than a little. NBC is owned by General Electric. However,
I will give them credit for Countdown.

I watch NBC News for the same reasons.....yes, they lean a little to the right.

They are not Fox News, but there is a tendancy of the nightly news to be far more conservative than CNBC and MSNBC due to the age of the typical Viewer.

The local affiliates have a small influence as well. KCRA in Sacramento has had somewhat of an influence mainly because some of the Reporters have done so well there. (David Gregory, although i don't see him as being conservative) Other conservative talking heads like Rush Limbaugh and the new Fox bussiness anchor Tom Sullivan also originated in Sacramento.

Mainly though....NBC Nightly News is more nuetral than one way or another to me. CBS....liberal, ABC...does anyone even watch this?

Also there is a lot to say about perception and where you are starting from. Someone to the far left is going to see NBC as conservative from ther standpoint.

Does anyone watch the Katie Couric News? That just leaves NBC.

NBC Nightly News seems to have a lot of feel good stories about Iraq. That plays right into McCain's main campaign strategy -pro Iraq War. I must admit, these stories give me second thoughts (could he be right?, and that's about as far as it goes) about McCain's pro Iraq War stance, and I'm basically the most anti Iraq War person than anybody I know.
If the most watched nat'l news show gives me second thoughts, what does that do to others? That makes me think a little. Hmm.

Katie "Korea" Couric tries the soft sale for the extremist right wing, but mostly by fogging people's minds over with bullshit fluff.

No good news in Iraq is worth my friend having to do yet another tour there.

NBC is playing it straight in regards to Iraq,
The other networks refuse to cover the improvements.

Believe it or not - Fox 6PM night news has the most in depth coverage of Iraq.
They have been showing all the improvements in both political and security there.

There've been virtually no meaningful political improvements in Iraq, so that must be one of the Wry FOX's shorter segments.

Katie Couric? She refers to Republicans as "you people" and "those people". I've heard her say this myself, back when she was on the Today Show. ( I haven't watched her since.)
CBS News has been extreme left wing since Gunga Dan was the anchor. The reason they are essentially nonexistent in the ratings is because they are angry about being leftists.
Even Walter Cronkite admits he is a liberal, but at least he wasn't angry about it.
Fox News succeeds because they at least are entertaining , if not factual. Plus they have foxes reporting. That helps. But not really angry.

All three networks are owned by major corporations so the notion of calling any of them liberal or "radical" is absurd. I've said this before but I'll repeat it. The nightly news on any of the big three starts off with skewed coverage of the war in Iraq in favor of it but maintaining a phony veneer of neutrality, followed by scare tactic reports of natural disaster or crime stories that would be better covered by the local affiliates where they occur, financial advice from the criminal corporate elements and "think tanks" responsible for the ARM mess we find ourselves in today, concluding with a corny "human interest" story with shades of Charles Kuralt, usually involving any combination of small towns, old people and cute fuzzy animals to make the audiance feel just fine and dandy about the status quo. The news divisions of the Big Three used to operate independently of the rest of the network but have long since been merged with the entertainment divisions, reducing the "news" to mindless fluff, leaving a fat, benighted American public in the dark just the way Big Business likes them to be. Liberal TV media? What a load o' shite!
