I've always hated our hypocrisy, and that is something that we can be faulted for. But in no way does it justify an attack on Poland. If we were to do the same thing Russia is doing we would be wrong as well.

Of course it isn't right what we did to Iraq, that's why I said in thread about the Georgia conflict that we have ZERO credibilty on the issue. But again, that in no way justifies what Russia is doing...
This appears basically to be a threat to the US by proxy. We would be putting in a system that could easily target Russia and they want no part of it. We wouldn't want any part of it either and I can't really blame them for that. No US shield, no threat to Poland. It is us they are protecting themselves against. Also, whey all of a sudden bring this issue back to life you have to admit the timing is suspicious at best. What we are going to end up with is another fucking cold war at the hands of Bush, what else is new? He needs to shut the fuck up and stay out of everyone elses affairs for his last few months instead of leaving us with more shit to clean up. Our only hope at this point is for congress to step in, this is another pre-Iraq bullshit call for war.

I guess I fail to see how it could be construed as a threat to Russia when the missiles can't be launched against any Russian targets except incoming missiles(to the best of my knowledge). So if Poland wants the defense missiles out of fear of a Russian attack should we deny them?

I'm worried about a cold war too....but I'm a little worried about Russia's plans to reconquer the countries they controlled....do we let that happen again?

It would be important to bear in mind that Russia has greedy, lustful, power mongering Assholes, just like we do.

The answer to not having answered the aggression of our OWN Robber Baron Ruling Elite against our OWN country is to grant leeway to our Adversary's aggression against ANOTHER country?

How very...Democratic.

May as well send China an engraved invitation.

The difference is ALSO that the Cuban missiles were pointed AT us and the Polish missiles point AWAY from us.

I am wide-screen on the dastardliness of enough of America's Ruling Elite that we stand disgraced as the "Leader of the Free World."

However, comma, I am NOT prepared to even-steven, psycho-babble my way into World War WHEEE to maintain political correctness.

Russia invaded Georgia because it can.

That's how bullies roll.

Bush is paying Russia to withdraw...your tax dollars at work.

Jeepers, the Russian invasion of Georgia almost couldn't contrast more sharply with Obama's Hawaiian Holiday. How very convenient or inconvenient, depending your camp.

Two weeks before the landmark Democratic Convention at which he hopes? expects? to be confirmed as the Democratic nominee for the Presidency of the United States, in summer heat that is unbearable without unaffordable air conditioning in some parts of the country, while the gas by which a person might drive somewhere cooler if they could afford hotel and restaurants is somewhere in the $4 per gallon range (acknowledging pre-election declines), who advised Obama that this would be a good time to boot, scoot 'n boogie off to the Hawaiian Islands?

I'd be looking askance at that person, if I were Obama.

First off these aren't nuclear weapons. Secondly, when range is accounted for you'll find they don't cover Russian ICBM trajectories. Third- and I can't emphasize this enough, THE SCARECROW DEFENSE INITIATIVE DOES NOT WORK. It was a contractor giveaway from start to finish. It only works half the time and only if the tests are rigged.

Jr. shouldn't have arranged this deal regardless, but that still doesn't justify Russian government belligerance or imperialistic attitude.

Yeah he can't have the crack staff that McCain does or that Hillary did.

If you want to compare their staff of advisers you might want to pay attention to who's lost/replaced half of their staffs while Obama's team has remained rock solid the entire time. Perhaps he should have the Bush advisers telling him what to do, after all Bush has taken the most vacations of any president, ever so that's obviously worked out well for them now hasn't it?

Tune FOX News out for a change. Sure their stories are entertaining but only because they turn them into bullshit and ignore the facts. It's that type of banter that has people like you questioning every move that Obama makes while Bush and McCain vow to devastate this country.

Dude, I'm giving Obama better advice than any of you are.

Do you imagine that every single person who purports to be supporting Obama actually wants Obama to win?

For all those throngs of 70-plus thousand, wouldn't you imagine that he'd be pulling away in the polls?

Right now, he's on a track to lose in November.

And because he has slid right-not-right, it exonerates McCain oozing even further right-not-right.

If McCain DOES win, which we have every reason to suppose he might, neoconservative pervy reactionary influences will point to the non-mandate of the people...that the people really DON'T want material change.

You are still bogged down in reflexive defensiveness of a candidate who CAN do wrong and who almost certainly, if history and politics are any guide, has enemies amongst his quote-unquote loyalists.

Unlike YOU, who are determined to support a party, I am determined that whoever the fuck gets into that office actually executes some Reform, and BOTH candidates are dancing backward from that goal.

News. Man it´s really funny. How both left and right wingers distort the same headlines for whatever impact on their readers/listeners.
Russia,....it´s gonna explode once again one of these days for sure. Too much land for a single country begs for it.
