FLASHBACK: Sarah Palin Would Be Best VP For Ron Paul

FLASHBACK: Sarah Palin Would Be Best VP For Ron Paul
Posted September 22nd, 2007 by freeman

There has been some little bit of thought been put into who would make a good running mate for Dr. Paul's presidential bid, and I believe I have located the absolute perfect person for the job: Sarah Palin, Republican Governor of Alaska, one of the most free states in the country.

As I have thought about this, it has seemed obvious to me that there just aren't a whole lot of Ron Pauls running around out there from which to choose, but a look a closer look at Mrs. Palin reveals a startlingly familiar them to this Ron Paul supporter:

She has strong, rooted family values (she has four children and her husband is a commercial fisherman), was a two-time mayor of Wasilla, one of Alaska's fastest-growing communities, was elected President of the Alaska Conference of Mayors, and is probably the most popular governor in the U.S., with an approval rating in the 90% range!

In addition to being the youngest Governor in the history of Alaska, she is also the first woman to hold that office.

She has publicly complained about fellow Republicans' unethical behavior and references Alaska's Constitution whenever she speaks. Considered a maverick in the GOP, she goes around saying things like: "Fiscally speaking, the private sector can do a better job than government can do." and "Also just trusting individuals to make wise decisions for themselves and families. I have a lot of trust in individuals. I don't trust government nearly as much." She recently signed a bill making it a crime for public servants not to report bribery they know about.

Does any of this sound a bit familiar to a Ron Paul supporter?

Sarah Palin, Republican Vice-Presidential Nominee, Plugs Romney, Paul — But Not McCain — In MTV Interview
Published by MTV News on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 1:58 pm.

Sarah Palin By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Dani Carlson

Back in February, on Super Tuesday, MTV News Street Teamer Dani Carlson did a Flixwagon interview with Alaska Governor — and now presumptive Republican vice-presidential candidate — Sarah Palin, who had some interesting things to say about energy policy and the “party machinery.”

In this interview, Palin calls controversial Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul “cool.” “He’s a good guy,” she added. “He’s so independent. He’s independent of the party machine. I’m like, ‘Right on, so am I.’ ”

She also spoke about feeling allegiance with former presidential hopeful Mitt Romney. “He said all the right things about resource development in Alaska,” she said. “I didn’t have an opportunity to speak to all the candidates, but again, it’s not my job to speak to all the candidates and tell Americans who to vote for. That’s Americans’ jobs, to figure out what candidates are standing for. That’s the voters’ jobs.”

Check out Dani Carlson’s video interview with Gov. Sarah Palin after the jump!

She went on to say that she hoped the needs of her state would be addressed in Washington. “I talk about involvement by Americans having a say in where the nation is going to go,” she said. “This is an exciting day. And for Alaska, you know, I hope we register on somebody’s radar screen.”

She also spoke about Alaska’s natural resources, and urged the next president to look to her state for relief from the country’s reliance on foreign oil. “We have so much oil we are just sitting on,” she said. “We would be less reliant on foreign sources of energy [if we utilized that] — we need to have the ability to tap into it and produce for rest of the United States.”

To hear more of what Palin had to say check out the video.

First, off understand that President Palin would be nearly the disaster as President Jr. for many of the same reasons. The only difference is that while Jr. is mostly dependent on his puppeteering Japedo Committee [as led by Cheney] she would be entirely on their strings. They'd use her up and spit her out.

This also prevents any Ron Paul VP [were she allowed to pick him] for the same reasons he lost the primary as badly as he did.

It does. The newly ascendant president doesn't choose their VP. however the house does choose a new Speaker.
