IMO the right wing elitist trying to sell the/mr. war are going to have a far harder time w/ finding an issue that is going to over ride self interest like abortion did w/ many voters.........

Obama vs mcbush= hope vs scare
What I meant was economically really...and to be honest that is the really the only thing that matters. Keeping your money... it's more important to the wealthy, and I don't mean billions of dollars, I mean people who have sizable investments and don't want to be taxed into the next century. We want tax cuts, incentive checks, etc.

Actually the derivation goes back to what was called "mob" politics, during the Roman 'Republic' period. Specifically, Gaius and Tiberius Gracchus who wooed the urban poor and equestrian classes with promises of free grain. They of course, were eventually unsuccessful and keeping the fickle mob when they failed to follow though with such promises.
The great struggle of the Populares vs. Optimates still going on today...

On a unrelated note: I am glad you know how to use a dictionary, I am impressed

lol.......... Abortion was merely a tool.... "you can't= I can't vote for anyone that supports abortion"........... Really meaningless as no president can change that but it is how they get hooked in......

I don't think "cutting taxes" is going to work anywhere near as well as it has in the recent past........

P
The ppl want more than just that.. Heathcare, immigration & a holehellvalotta other things are high on the agenda.......

Yeah, except I didn't get that from Wikipedia. It's just something I know and remembered. I did mean to say populist but I misspelled it. Why would you even waste your time correcting it?

see, admitting your mistake is so much easier. i pointed it out because you felt the need to come in here and nitpick Cosby's grammar

Oh I think it was because the thread statement was misspelled and the comments were also misspelled. Making a small mistake is one thing, but flat out unreadability is another.

I never didn't admit my mistake. I didn't really get what was going on for a min there. I didn't even notice it, then I had a "light bulb" moment.
