I happen to KNOW that sun tzu would agree that, in any war, you should have a fucking half-sensible plan. (I've read his book).

"The best is to win without fighting" - Sun Tzu. We could have done that. In fact, we WERE doing that.

But the guys you are defending had no interest in "winning" anything other than power and petroleum. It's the MONEY, man! Money for contractors, money for buddies, and oh, not to mention - control over one of the worlds largest reserves. (gasp!) Oh I'm falling into the old war for oil point. Well, at least it does have the additional virtuous quality of actually being true.

Apparently the truth is an enemy combatant, too.

One of the few good things to hear about the soldiers who need help... Here in Denver, we are graced with a cutting edge rehab hospital for spinal cord injuries. Craig hosptial hosted a gala at the DTC Marriott for 3 soldiers who are recovering from wounds sustained in combat.

America's enemies did not succeed in breaking the spirit or will of war heroes Jason Murray, Matthew Keil and Chase Gean.

All they did was help them pursue new dreams.

An improvised explosive device planted by insurgents in Ramadi, Iraq, robbed Murray of the sight in his right eye. But his wife, Kelsi, and a cane help guide him.

A sniper pierced Keil's spinal cord with a bullet while he was patrolling Ramadi, but he uses his wheelchair and his wife's support to get around.

A guerilla in Afghanistan ambushed Gean with a machine gun, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.

But with the help of veterans and his fiancee, Shannon, Gean is on his way toward becoming a high school teacher.

The three men were honored Thursday with the Christopher and Dana Reeve Inspiration Award by Craig Hospital at the Marriott Denver Tech Center.

"They are heroes in our eyes, but they strive to be normal in our eyes," said Denny O'Malley, Craig Hospital president.

After a moving video exhibition, the audience of about 800 gave a rousing, one-minute ovation to the three disabled veterans and their significant others.

"To be honest with you, I don't think I deserve it," Murray said prior to receiving the award.

I for one...am thrilled to have these men here, getting the best care in the nation for these types of injuries. Walter Reed is bullshit and a disgrace to these Americans. I wish all soldiers had access to this facility, Craig can work miracles...

The "truth" is that we weren't fighting for oil - we should have TAKEN it, but we were interested in making Iraq a free-standing democracy. So far, we have. They've voted. They're (slowly) taken over command and control of their country. I guess you actually THOUGHT it would be instantaneous. How stupid can people be?

How handily you DEFINE truth, when Plato couldn't. Then again, Clinton couldn't define 'sex", so I guess it's a wash.

If you see yourself as a maverick, more power to you - odds are you're more of a sheep than anyone.
