I'm starting to think that Jon's and Stephen's improvized performances are a strong argument against the writers getting what they want. Clearly, both do well without them.

This is one of the better Colbert episodes I have ever seen. That piece on the strike was excellent.

Clips of Colbert's Martin Luther King Day show should be in this link:

Colbert's Civil Rights MLK Day Writer's Strike-Busting Writerless Show — In Song - Media on The Huffington Post

Andrew Young is amazing. Stephen Colbert is amazing.

Andrew Young visit

I thought Colbert's piece about the strike at the Charleston hospital, and his father's role in it, was absolutely fantastic! He really exposed himself, I thought, and his great pride in his father. I was moved to tears.

So different, but still so much Colbert.

They are members of the writer's union.

They only went back on because the voice of FOX gets too strong without them

These guys, Jon and Steve are exceptional.....
Most other shows really need their writers, they will be one of the few things that cannot be replaced, a plot. Soon we will be watching an animated Cronkite on the evening news again, John Wayne will be in new films and Raquel Welch will be young - who needs actors ... but writers....
