I'm starting to think that Jon's and Stephen's improvized performances are a strong argument against the writers getting what they want. Clearly, both do well without them.

This is one of the better Colbert episodes I have ever seen. That piece on the strike was excellent.

Clips of Colbert's Martin Luther King Day show should be in this link:
Colbert's Civil Rights MLK Day Writer's Strike-Busting Writerless Show — In Song - Media on The Huffington Post Andrew Young is amazing. Stephen Colbert is amazing. |

Andrew Young visit
I thought Colbert's piece about the strike at the Charleston hospital, and his father's role in it, was absolutely fantastic! He really exposed himself, I thought, and his great pride in his father. I was moved to tears.
So different, but still so much Colbert. |

Most other shows really need their writers, they will be one of the few things that cannot be replaced, a plot. Soon we will be watching an animated Cronkite on the evening news again, John Wayne will be in new films and Raquel Welch will be young - who needs actors ... but writers.... ![]()
