That's another thing which Colber[t], in his way, brought up. We're highly selective about what animals to save. Sharks are being just as merciliessly butchered [definned and thrown in the sea to suffer slow drowning] yet there's no comericial for the 250,000 of them killed each year. Crocodiles and alligators both are massacred en mass, yet their advocates can't get a word in edgewise.

Also, Ingrid doesn't know that often male dolphins kill porpuses in order to refine their infanticide technique. And let's not ever START with what orcas get off doin'.

See, when a shark kills there's no bulslhit. It's a one shot attack, they decide it's worth eating [or not] then thrash to kill as quickly as they can to avoid injury from the prey. But orcas? Those fuckers take their time. A shark is far more humane than an orca. Ingrid doesn't understand mammalian or avian behavior in the slightest.

Not to piss on the picknic, but those livestock aren't treated all that well either, the egg laying chickens in particular.

Well then, you can get all righteous as you wish. BTW, I was raised on a ranch and farm, so I've forgotten more about the cattlemen and beef industries than you ever knew. The stupid way we treat animals has been something I've yelled about for years. It didn't take a movie or a PETA billboard to clue me in. But I'm also a realist. I'm a carnivore same as you. I wish they'd change the system or come up with a realistic alternative. They don't and they haven't and I'm eating. Got leather in my shoe, in my wallet, in my seat, in my car-seat, in my belt, in my briefcase. All those things you don't use or eat, and I'm glad you've found your fight. Mine lies elsewhere. Until things change, I'm keeping a sense of humor and lightening things up. Education thru humor.

But.....

How's that fish? I could start a thread on commercial fishing and IT'S EVILS.

How's those veggies? Ever heard of CCD and it's affect on bees? Defoliants and pesticides and fertilizers and slave labor.

BTW, it ain't just PETA that's hypocritical. If you or I did to our dog what is done in feedlots on a typical day, we'd spend more time in jail than Vick. On the flip side, if dogs tasted good Vick would've gotten probation. And you know it, so PETA is an extension of the MSM which is just an extension of us. Tastes good then I don't care, looks cute than I'm up in arms.

You just don't hear me do you? I'm not self righteous at all.
It isn't that an animal was killed and its body was used for so many things.. it's how it lived beforehand and the manner in which it was killed.

I think when cattle, are allowed to graze, allowed to nurse their young, allowed to live as natural as possible then humanely and quickly killed, I don't see harm in that.

But when they're raised in factory farms, their calves taken away to be abused and confined elsewhere fed by tubes instead of naturally nursing, barely receiving fluids to keep the urine thick.. it's sickening..and when a dairy cow is so engorged with hormones to make her overproduce milk that she cannot stand up anymore and looks like some freakish creation of mankind, It makes me wonder about what kind of evil mindset contrives these unimaginable atrocities?
And what about pigs, chickens and sheep? You should read and see what I see regarding horse slaughter too.

I haven't even gotten to the slaughterhouse atrocities yet.
