What sucks is that the great amount of feedstock necessary to meet global needs is what sets the state for feedlots and abuses in same. The cow eating in a field, having a more-or-less normal cow-life, then being taken to market would create starvation in people as supply wouldn't meet the needs. Meat is a factory product until we come up with another doable way.
I'm sure there's a combination of the two that'll improve output and be more humane.

But.....

How's that fish? I could start a thread on commercial fishing and IT'S EVILS.

How's those veggies? Ever heard of CCD and it's affect on bees? Defoliants and pesticides and fertilizers and slave labor.

Got any diamonds?

How's your gas mileage?

It isn't that an animal was killed and its body was used for so many things.. it's how it lived beforehand and the manner in which it was killed.

I think when cattle, are allowed to graze, allowed to nurse their young, allowed to live as natural as possible then humanely and quickly killed, I don't see harm in that.

But when they're raised in factory farms, their calves taken away to be abused and confined elsewhere fed by tubes instead of naturally nursing, barely receiving fluids to keep the urine thick.. it's sickening..and when a dairy cow is so engorged with hormones to make her overproduce milk that she cannot stand up anymore and looks like some freakish creation of mankind, It makes me wonder about what kind of evil mindset contrives these unimaginable atrocities?
And what about pigs, chickens and sheep? You should read and see what I see regarding horse slaughter too.

I haven't even gotten to the slaughterhouse atrocities yet.

Can ANYONE comprehend that
MAKING MASSIVE NUMBERS OF HUMANS WHO EAT IS THE PROBLEM?????????????????????????????

Fewer people means fewer animals used for food and fewer pesticides and better farming.
Duh

For those who don't know:Mung bean - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
many people only eat one or two eggs.
The body needs 3-5 egg-whites worth of protein per meal but not the yolk.

Again, butter does NOT have vitamins or protien.

Peas do not have the full amount of protien needed.

I like kidney beans cooked, for 24 hours, in the crockpot with tomatoes and Lundberg's rice

she is annoying to me, too. i had those PETA chicks on my myspace list but i chased them off. EVERYTHING, mind you, everything i did or said to these girls was greeted with a ruthless idealism for animals that seemed almost pathological. these troubled young ladies need to talk to a counselor about their reproductive rights and stop deflecting their personal outrage onto other people, imo. they're too much.

when i was a teenager i recall seeing this low-budget sci-fi horror film called The Day of the Animals which was about a present day time when all the animals took revenge on their human co-habitants in a Friday the 13th by the numbers gorefest. sure, the story was implausible, but i loved it! and it makes me equally happy to imagine that if this ridiculous story were to ever come to pass in real life (or re-make, perhaps?), that the very first people to get slaughtered by rabid wildlife would be those PETA activists!

Vegans are a good question as for cannibalism. On one hand they're an easy catch but then on the other hand they don't have very much meat on their bones. So I guess the real decisive factor comes down to how easy a human is to clean. Could catch a lot of them at once though, like the buffalo.
