You have to remember he has a family and does comedy tours as well, much similar to Bill Maher who sometimes takes a week off to do a comedy club gig. (Like the Los Vegas Hard Rock)

Also remember it's not just 30 minutes, a lot of work goes into the shows and they are written together. That way they don't step on each others toes in lampooning current events unless it's a gold mine.

So lay off Stewart and Colbert for taking the week off.

A lot of writing and staff go into Letterman and Leno too, you don't see them taking several months off a year. You going to tell me Jon isn't getting paid huge bucks for that show?

Yes, thank you I liked Colbert much better, it seems like Jon is going out of his way not to cover the election, none of the candidates were mentioned at all. He is more fixated on the war. But Colbert was all over it and a lot of laughs.

They're also cable and do a lot more quality control. You see Leno or Letterman? They just use the same old shit. (Case in point, how they ran Monica Lewisnki into the ground)

I'm also guessing the national TV shows have a much larger writing staff and more things to burn through, such as bits. Colbert and Stewart don't have the lugery of that.

Just bite the bullet, we get quality, not quantity entertainment.
