Medical marijuana here? When hell freezes over, and maybe not even then.

Yes, that's it. Thank you.

That's too bad. Better than putting harmful pharmasuticals in your body and environmentally safe. Our Governor's assistant just read a book about the inability to wash out medications from treated water and sludge (Feces flushed down the toilet) and that is turned into fertilizer to put on growing food and in the forests. Our Legislature is trying to get us patients more than just 1 ounce and up it to a quarter pound. Aercheological evidence proves that in the first century they took better care of their sick and disabled than we do today. They brought them marijuana and opiates. I can't spell today. Now in this so called civilized world we can't even get a pain medication when you need it. Heaven forbid we get something to treat our pain and suffering. Not very civil or moral.

I'm not on pain meds, except some arthritis tylenol. I'm kinda scared to try some of the stuff you mentioned, although I would love to get some relief from this damned neuropathy pain. I just don't want to impair my thinking and my memory more than it is. What is your experience with pain medication, if I may ask?

I don't know Gmom, MJ may not be legal but where I work people get so many pain meds, I'm shocked they don't come in a Pez dispenser. Cookie, meds isn'y my thang but have you inquired about the celebrex and whether it would help your condition?

I don't take over the counter pain meds, and I'm intolerant of most medications because of my rare condition. I can take Percocet but not for very long. Most pain medications never leave your liver or kidneys. I prefer the more natural meds. Actually marijuana does not impair as the government tried to protray. I've been on marijuana since age 7. Works good, and I can function without falling asleep. It doesn't take away the pain, but it makes it more tolerable.

Celebrex is another bad one. Why, because there hasn't been a long term study to back it up. My first rule is if it hasn't been on the market for more than 30 years with a long term study behind it, don't take it. My step-sister is a chemist who worked for a pharmasutical company and she will not even take over the counter meds let alone prescribed except asprin. And she gets really bad migrains, but she would rather suffer. She's worked in the industry and knows the harm being done with meds.

Well, with due respect, my rule is nobody lives forever and everyone needs to measure their own quality of life. I occasionally take celebrex for degenerative disc issues and it works so good I have to be careful not to be tricked into say a skiing outing because I feel fourteen again. Trust me, I'm not defending big Pharma but occasionally they do hit one out of the park...

Celebrex is an nsaid..it may make you feel better but the side effects are heart attack and internal bleeding. Cookie, I also have neuropathy from a bout of shingles when I was 19. Nothing touches that kind of pain.
Dr. Zaius:
Some have said to take milk thistle capsules to protect the liver.

It is about quality that's for sure. But we must also think about the environment and the effects it has on other people and species. Hasn't anyone noticed that there is more and more younger people coming down with Parkosins and Alzhiemers? And many other diseases.
