Yes Celebrex is a nsaid as are some otc meds, you need to know Celebrex was the only compound not removed from the market. If you want to cut pieces to pieces, consider the meat, air we breathe, contaminants in fish, if the thunder doesn't get you the lightning will. I use all meds judiciously, before you talk Cookie out of a day from her youth, I'd suggest she check with he personal Physician on these matters, if he ok's Celebrex I'd throw the dice and try one.

I'm just stating the facts about medications. Just like the experimental pacemaker they had in me. It's causing neurological damage to people and you watch, the FDA will approve it. They don't care if it makes money. You can look up Celebrex online. As far as the fish, well the US Navy is one of the biggest polluters in the world and what do they do? Dump their nuclear and other garbage into our oceans. 8 out of 10 fish have tumors related to this so I don't eat any sea food at all. All I was doing was trying to educate her. I've had pain all my life, but be careful with newer meds. They don't do long term studies before approving it anymore. It's all about the $. We all get old, and have more pain. Just a fact of life and nature has it's own medications which work just as good. Accupuncture works good for pain as well as other illnesses. I'm just against all these new medication when they have older and just as good stuff from the old days. Humans are big crybabies, including me.

I used to take it for my arthritis, before I went on Enbrel. Knock wood, the Enbrel works well enough that I was able to discontinue the Celebrex.

I haven't checked with my physician, because I can't remember to do it. I must write that down so I can call, probably after the holidays.

Guys.....everyone who so sweetly responded to my question....this shit is SCAREY!! It seems you are damned if you do, damned if you don't. The acupuncture is something I am liking, though it's expensive at $65 dollars a treatment. But gradually, I think I am noticing a difference in the way I feel. I'll see how it goes, and how long my money lasts. lol.

Thanks everyone for your good advice. I have been meaning to ask about milk thistle for the liver. God knows, mine could use a break, I'm sure. And that vinegar tonic....I've got to try that vinegar tonic.

I'm a bigger crybaby than you. I betcha. But it helps so much just to talk about it with someone. Don't you think that helps, GM?

Accupunture rocks and is gaining acceptance to the point where some insurances are covering treatments. Sixty five clams is a lot but if we all think about it there is something we blow money on that can be reduced for greater physical comfort. For me, the trick is to recognize escalation of my painful flare ups and treat them before they reach a painful apex. Then once they have subsided, I stop all the mechanisms I used to get pain free till the next time I need them.

PS I love, lidocaine patches, transdermal pain killer, you might ask about trying them too.

Good. Another affirmation. I've read that people are using the patches for neuropathy pain but I haven't tried them yet. I see my doc tomorrow for an infection in my nose, of all places!! I'll make a list of stuff to ask about while I'm there. More bang for my buck that way.

Hope you are doing well...we don't realize what others cope with, as so often we are wrapped up in our own misery.

I am grateful for your input and concern.
