My Father and Pneumonia

My dad has been hospitalized while fighting a pneumonia over the last week and today they've released him. I am sort of excited that he made it through being in his 70's and all so wanted to share.

Though I love my dad to death I think he was a real bastard to work with for the nursing staff there. He battled them every step of the way, he can't swallow pills (nor can I) and the staff had a difficult time with that. Then he put his lower partial in a napkin and fell asleep just to wake up and find that they had chucked it. He tried to escape twice. All in all I don't think any of them had much fun lol. Anyway he's going home so I guess they can all be done with it.

Glad he's home and out of the hospital. I don't blame him for being the way he was in the hospital. The care we get in this country is not real care, it's more like "Well I need the paycheck.'

Good to hear your dad will be home for Christmas, ericgtr. It's no fun being in the hospital, and it can even make a good natured person cranky.

So, did your dad find his partial?

Thanks everyone. They weren't able to find his partial unfortunately but I bet that's the last time he puts in a napkin on a tray full of food lol.

I'm so glad he's ok Eric. I've just gotta say this...

Stay on top of this. If he has follow up Dr. appt's make SURE he keeps them. I lost my son to pneumonia last Feb. from a relapse because he refused to go back for follow up. I don't mean to sound bossy...I just wanted to share how important aftercare is.

That's wonderful Eric! My Dad was a real bear whenever he was hospitalized too. He was so used to barking orders and being in command, he made a lousy patient.

Merry Christmas to you and your Dad. It's pretty lousy to spend the holidays in a hospital, so I imagine he'll treasure this Christmas all the more. Hope he's feeling better.
