Our of curiosity I was wondering if anyone actually writes to their local representatives when faced with denials for medical treatment, or your disease is not recognized by State or Federal Government like they are trying to do to me. I may not be "French", but I refuse to allow my government to put fear in me. It should be the government afraid of the people.

When congress was planning a change in medical coverage for oxegen, which my mother currently uses, I didn't write....I called. Spoke with an assistant to Dan Lungren in DC, but only for a few minutes. They were being evacuated from the building for a bomb scare or something. The guy said it happens nearly once a week or more. I also called Dian Feinstein's offices in both SF and DC. Lungren now has me on a call list and I never heard back from DI FI's office. She is what everyone accuses Hilary Clinton of being. I will never cote for DI FI again.

I never thought to write my local reps when I was denied medical treatment by my HMO (Kaiser) in 2003 but if it were to happen again I would.

I don't have health insurance.

I have written and called my representatives in favor of the children's health care.

If I am denied health care do to my lack of insurance--I'll write and probably call.

Actually you send an email first, give it a week, then call them. They will ask you to put it in writing and the faster you get it to them, the faster they respond. I usually get the same answer when I ask if they read my email. "Let me look into it and have someone call you back."
